Experienced Research Scientist, Pharmacology Research at Gubra

Gubra is looking for an experienced Research Scientist to join our highly collaborative Pharmacology Research Department.  The number and complexity of studies conducted at Gubra is growing and we are therefore looking to expand our team with an experienced research scientist with solid metabolic understanding and the ability to design and interpret in vivo pharmacology studies in rodents.


The Pharmacology department at Gubra consisting of animal technicians, laboratory technicians, and scientists working with a variety of rodent models. Our current focus is on diabetes, obesity, NASH/NAFLD, and gastrointestinal diseases, but diabetic complications, incl. diabetic nephropathy, and cardiovascular disease, represent growing areas of research at Gubra. The department collaborates internally with other Gubra research groups and extensively with our collaborators on both contract research studies as well as innovation projects.

We are looking for a self-motivated scientist with the ability to navigate and collaborate in an energetic organization. A person with high scientific standards not only for the group but also for Gubra in general. He/she should enjoy working in a research setting, take ownership, and actively drive scientific collaborations. The ideal candidate has international experience, preferably from drug or target discovery programs in the industry.

Gubra is dynamic and data/delivery driven. Our workdays can be quite hectic with rapid changes and it is therefore essential that you have a flexible attitude and can step up and assist in the animal facilities if needed. As a Research Scientist in our Pharmacology department, you will support that vision by taking ownership and contribute to the delivery of high quality data.

 Your tasks as a Research Scientist are varied, but include:

• Designing and conducting in vivo pharmacology studies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Participating in coordination tasks within the Pharmacology department and other areas of Gubra to ensure successfully executed studies
• Communicating with external stakeholders (customers) orally and in writing
• Optimizing current methods with your passion for high quality data
• Analyzing, interpreting and reporting study results

Desired Professional qualifications:

• A strong metabolic understanding preferably within diabetes, obesity, metabolic disease and/or diabetic complications
• A life science background at the PhD level e.g. biology, veterinary science, or (molecular) biomedicine, and preferably at least three years of post doctoral experience
• Experience as a Study Director for in vivo pharmacology studies – preferably from drug and/or target discovery programs
• Idea driven and project oriented – could include a project management background
• Flair for - and interest in - customer contact
• Highly collaborative with strong execution skills

• You know how to work with others and you share your knowledge
• National and international networks are an advantage
