You most likely have 3-5 years of experience with frontend development and is excited by the opportunity to join a great team in an ambitious organisation at a time where you have a chance to have great influence on our future and become a key person. We will naturally ensure that you are thoroughly onboarded to the team, and you can expect a steep development curve with a world of opportunities within our large IT organisation.
The team
You will become part of an autonomous SCRUM team of highly skilled cross-functional colleagues - all with insights about various aspects of our products, technologies and engineering practices.
We have end-to-end responsibility for the sourcing and buying processes, and we always search for new ways of creating value, while continually improving our existing solutions. At the moment, one of our primary focus areas is the re-engineering of some of our key processes with the purpose of making a significant leap in terms of business capabilities.
In BESTSELLER IT the atmosphere is more like that of a start-up than an IT department with hundreds of colleagues. We have rapid decision processes, there is room for experimenting with new technologies, and we move fast from idea to execution.
The job
As Frontend Developer, your primary responsibility will be to develop great frontend experiences. You design, develop, deploy, operate and improve frontend applications with a focus on ensuring that our solutions are intuitive for the end-user.
You work either independently or in close collaboration with the analysts, software architect or backend developers in the team. We have a full-stack approach, so we hope you also have an interest in contributing to the backend development.
More specifically, your tasks include:
- Developing frontend applications based on business requirements clarified and delivered by the analysts in your team
- Collaborating with backend developers to reduce complexity, maximize the robustness and thrill our end-users
- Testing and deployment.
Your profile
As a person, you have a strong desire to develop great solutions. Being part of a small, agile team, it comes natural to you to share your knowledge and to inspire and support your colleagues. You contribute constructively to team discussions, and you enjoy finding creative solutions to complex problems together. With your critical eye and sense for detail, you deliver quality code and take ownership and feel accountable for the team's results.
You have a business mindset and thrive in a role where you collaborate closely with colleagues across the entire business to deliver solutions with the end-user in mind.
Qualifications
- You have a strong track record within frontend development
- You have a passion for UX and a great user experience
- You are very skilled in ReactJS and, most importantly, you are object-oriented and organise your code in a logical structure to ensure optimal conditions for maintenance and reusability
- You have experience with JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS and HTML
- If you've also dabbled with Java/Springboot, microservices architecture, BFF, BitBucket, CircleCI, YAML or NodeJS, you'll really get us going - but it's not a requirement
- You don't need to know about SCRUM - we will get you there, when you join us on our agile journey.
