The growth and success continue at Gubra, and we are looking for a talented and dedicated group leader to head our newly established Assay & NGS Technology group, which will initially consist of 8 scientists and 4 laboratory technicians. The focus of the Assay & NGS Technology group is to deliver high quality biomarker and RNA sequencing data within diabetes, obesity and related metabolic disorders. The Assay & NGS Technology group supports customer studies and internal projects. Furthermore, the group develops antibodies and biomarker assays. The group is part of Gubra’s In vitro area also comprising molecular pharmacology competences.  
 
The successful candidate is an experienced people manager with experience in assay technologies and automation. You have a drive for prioritizing resources and optimizing work flows in a business focused environment. As a leader, you are passionate about the people management role and values to develop individuals as well as the team. It is important that you have a flexible attitude, that you can make necessary decisions and that you are ready to seek advice and sparring with both colleagues and management. The Assay & NGS Technology group leader reports to the Area Head of In vitro. 
 
 Your tasks as group leader include:  

• Daily management of the group of scientists and technicians ensuring personal development and a high level of information 
• Help scientists prioritize resources, while maintaining efficiency and timeline adherence in complex research projects without compromising quality   
• Participation in relevant cross functional meetings ensuring optimal collaboration on internal and external projects 
• Support your team in developing, maintaining and delivering quality data and ensuring a state-of-the art laboratory platform for biochemical, immunochemical and next generation sequencing analyses 

Desired Skills and Experience  

• Solid managerial experience  
• A PhD degree plus at least 5 years of experience preferably from the pharmaceutical industry/biotech 
• Experience with assay and sequencing technologies preferably within the metabolic space 
• Experience with automation implementation and LIMS 
• Dynamic, out-spoken and not afraid to take responsibility and initiative 
• A strong communicator in English (both oral and written)  
• Strong interpersonal skills
