Vestas Wind Systems A/S - High Voltage High Voltage is recognized to be amongst the world’s leading research & development departments of main wind turbine electrical components: High Voltage power transformers, High Voltage cables and switchgears. Responsibilities: The High Voltage department in Technology & Service Solutions (TSS) is looking for a competent and experienced Electrical engineer to work within the field of High Voltage transformer, switchgear and cable solutions. You will be part of a small dedicated core team of Electrical Engineers working with projects from concepts, design to final test and run in. You will be involved in integrated product development and specifications with suppliers in close cooperation with your colleagues. The department is characterized by engagement, professionalism and dedication working with core technologies within Electrical design for Wind applications. Your primary tasks will be: Conceptual design and specification of High Voltage Equipment. Create requirements, purchase specifications & test specifications for High Voltage Transformers, Switchgears and other high voltage equipment Participate in tests with suppliers and write, test- and design verification reports Participate in design reviews with suppliers Participate in test and validation of prototypes Provide technical support to Global sourcing in evaluating supplier performance Participate in QA Audits at suppliers facilities Qualifications: Qualifications and work experience: B.Sc.E.E. or M.Sc.E.E Practical experience in High Voltage equipment Design experience on high voltage power systems Experienced in writing design specifications and verification reports Structured, open-minded, trustworthy, ambitious, communicative, self-motivated and robust Good at presenting technical material to peers and management Willing to travel (30–50 days/year) We are looking for a candidate with a theoretical background preferably from design and test of High Voltage components in order to ensure a fast introduction to this position. However we encourage even newly graduated to apply, if you possess the right background and determination to take on this challenge. Commitment and motivation will bring you far, and you should be capable of becoming an expert in this exiting field of work within a relatively short time. You will often work independently as a High Voltage expert in large-scale development projects with colleagues from construction and R&D, where you perform with significant and independent responsibility under short deadlines.
