As HR Country Manager you will work in partnership with the business to provide support for key internal clients across multiple sites. As part of NOV’s HR Corporate team you will take responsibility for HR on both an operational and strategic level. Your ability to develop effective working relationships, influence and coach senior leaders will act as a strong foundation in this role to be able to deliver best practice. Your primary client will be NOV’s Subsea Production Systems business unit, headed in Copenhagen. 

As HR Country Manager you will equip key stakeholders with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage people in line with their people plans e.g. performance management, absence management, career management, compensation and provide project management support and HR expertise to the business with specific related projects. By providing both transformational advice and transactional support you will improve cost and efficiency, clarify accountabilities and empower delivery of great HR service. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  Responsible for the strategic and on-going development of the Denmark HR team and function.
  • Strategic business partner to senior members of management
  • Drafts and deploys strategic HR initiatives in line with business strategy 
  • Use professional insight to identify people related opportunities, priorities and potential risks with leadership 
  • Executes operationally as required. 
  • Supports mergers and acquisitions 
  • Receives and coordinator international HR actions and approvals toward business leaders in Denmark 
  • Takes a whole of country approach to relevant HR initiatives across all business segments. 
  • Represents Denmark at a country level toward Regional (Europe/Russia/Africa) HR Head office in Aberdeen and to NOV HR head office in Houston. 
  • Contributes actively as part of a network of HR Country Manager’s within the region to share information and work together on cross country initiatives 
  • Works closely with, promotes the use of, and utilizes the capabilities of Centre’s of Excellence (OD, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits) and HR Central Administration to ensure NOV businesses utilize the expertise of the whole HR function to enable business growth 
  • Forecast business headcount needs working in partnership with Talent Acquisition in order to identify matching skill sets 
  • Proactively work in partnership with HR Team and managers to ensure that the business is professionally resourced with the correct numbers, quality, competencies and types of workers needed to achieve current and future business objectives; 
  • Train, coach and guide HR team and business managers in the development of working practices, working environment and culture; 
  • Manage the roll out and follow up of regular employee engagement initiatives; 
  • Assist managers in effectively identifying and developing talent 
  • Work in conjunction with OD to engage with managers to conduct detailed training and learning needs analysis with their area in the short, medium and long term; 
  • Give accurate and appropriate advice (seeking appropriate specialist advice where necessary), training and support to managers to resolve ER issues such as grievances and disciplines 
  • Train, support and coach managers in adopting effective exit processes (e.g. redundancy) emphasising legal parameters and the requirement to work within them and the stated values of the organisation; 
  • Promote feedback mechanisms for employees and managers to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes; Actively support a culture of continuous improvement within the HR department; 
  • Network with colleagues in country and internationally, as well as externally to understand current trends an innovations in HR good practice; 
  • Regular travel between sites will be involved

Degree in Human Resources or related discipline

Business Management qualification

Experience:

Working knowledge of a manufacturing environment

Working knowledge of Trade Unions

Working knowledge of HR Project Management

Broad HR expertise, with a mix of operational, strategic, and systems thinking experience

Identifying, implementing and monitoring HR KPIs and metrics

Working knowledge of labor laws

Retail, Engineering, FMCG or manufacturing industry experience

Skills, training or special knowledge

Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
