Laboratory Technician Denmark - Måløv We are looking for two laboratory technicians who are ready to help us with cell-based assays in diabetes research About the department The Receptor Pharmacology team is part of the Incretin and Islet Biology department and based in the Diabetes Research Unit. The team focuses on in vitro pharmacology and biology related to our incretin-based therapy research. Receptor Pharmacology consists of 6 scientists, 8 technicians and 6 students that have responsibility for the following: screening of new incretin analogues, development of new assays with emphasis on incretins and GPCRs, mode of action support for discovery projects, introduction of new assay technologies and support of basic research in the biology of incretin hormones. The job For one of the two positions your main task will be to deliver in vitro functional cell-based assay data and receptor binding assay results as a part of our screening program. You will deal with all parts of running the assays from preparing cells to handling data. You will work with many different techniques and use Biomek robots on a daily basis. You will work in project-based teams with technicians and scientists to meet common goals. You will be expected to be able to report and present data in the teams. For the second position you will be involved in establishing new cell-based assays based on state-of-the-art in the GPCR field. You will be exposed to a variety of cell biology tasks. In addition you will be working with various instrument types, data file structures and assay techniques. You will be expected to be able to assimilate the information into standard computer programs (e.g., excel and GraphPad Prism). You will work in project-based teams with technicians and scientists to meet common goals. You will be expected to be able to report and present data in the teams. Qualifications You have an education as a laboratory technician. For both positions you have documented experience in working with cell-based assays. You preferably have experience in the GPCR field and have worked with a variety of assay types. You are experienced in working with standard programs, especially excel and GraphPad Prism (or equivalents). You are able to report your results clearly to your colleagues. You must be proficient in spoken and written English. For the position that has a focus on our screening program then prior experience with laboratory automation is preferable.
