JourneyXP provides a cloud-based Journey Management Platform to help businesses win customers for life. We are looking for an a part-time Data Scientist to join our Data Science team where you will be working with Matlab, Python, SQL, statistics, and machine learning.

About Data Science at JourneyXP

We are a team engaged in developing analytics prototypes for the management of our clients. Our mission is to collect and maintain data, build models based on the data, and present our findings in reports to and meetings with client management. Successful features go into our production enterprise system.  

The work involves data collection, cleaning, visualization and normalization, import and integration into our data warehouse, and ultimately analysis/modeling based on machine learning. Raw data sources take many forms, structured and unstructured, and a significant part of the job is to find ways to extract the relevant information from all sources.

About The Position

You will be involved in all aspects of the workflow. Overall, the mission is to collect, clean, maintain, visualize, analyze, and model data in many forms. In particular, you will be building and maintaining databases, writing data analysis scripts, creating management reports and helping us come up with new ideas.  

You will have access to extensive databases, from which you will be asked to find meaningful patterns and trends (data mining). In conjunction with client management, you will determine relevant metrics, types of analysis, and ways to display your analysis. You will compile your findings into reports generated via Matlab / Python / SQL.

What Does Success Look Like?

We are looking for a creative person, a thinker, who at the same time is willing to do some of the "heavy lifting" in making the machinery work. Thus we expect that you are driven, proficient in English, and a team player who is able to interact with engineers and client management alike.  

You can code in a high level language (preferably Matlab and Python) and have experience with databases (preferably both as an administrator and user).  

You have a degree in a quantitative subject accompanied by experience and passion for working with data.
