A position as postdoc is available in the Marine Biological Section at the Department of Biology. The postdoc will be financed for 30 months by the project “Resolving chemical microenvironments of large microbes” funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark ǀ Technical and Production Science. The project develops and applies novel microscopic imaging techniques for studying the internal and external chemical microenvironment of large microbial cells such as microalgae and cyanobacteria. We look for candidates with a PhD degree, who have a documented expertise in the development of optical chemical sensors and their application for chemical imaging in environmental samples. Experience with advanced imaging techniques such as luminescent lifetime imaging, multi-parameter chemical sensors, as well as the fabrication and application of sensor nanoparticles, will be advantageous.
The postdoc’s duties will include research within development of microscopic optical sensor methods for chemical imaging of the external and internal microenvironment of large microbial cells. The post may also include fieldwork, performance of other duties, and travel as part of national and international collaborations. The main workplace will be at the Marine Biological Sections premises at Strandpromenaden 5, Helsingør, 3000, Denmark.

The starting salary is currently up to DKK 426.625 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 72.952). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
