The Department of People and Technology at Roskilde University invites applications for a professorship in Learning, Evaluation and Social Innovation. The position is available from February 1st 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The professorship includes research, teaching, and outreach obligations.

Responsibilities and tasks
The Professor’s duties will primarily include research and research-based teaching and supervision predominantly in Social Entrepreneurship programmes and The Doctoral School of People and Technology. The successful candidate is expected to:

• conduct research meeting high international standards,
• contribute to the development of the research profile of the department,
• play a leading role in The Doctoral School of People and Technology,
• engage in external fundraising to increase funds for the department,
• play an active role in developing new teaching methods,
• take responsibility for the guidance and supervision of assistant professors and post docs,
• take responsibility for the long-term well-being at the department,
• contribute to the administrative responsibilities of the department and academic assessment
• participate in the department’s communication with the broader public,
• promote RUC’s academic reputation

Academic and professional profile
The applicant should hold a PhD degree or equivalent, match the profile below and document scientific qualifications in relation to the subject area(s) mentioned below:

• an international track record of publishing in high quality journals and publishing houses
• experienced research leadership and management and ability to develop and sustain research environments in international and national research project
• a track record of externally financed research projects
• experiences in leading and managing of doctoral school activities
• significant contributions to the international recognition of research at departmental level
• experiences from being member of external committees and boards
• teaching qualifications and qualifications in educational development at a high level, including qualification in Problem-oriented Project Learning or similar teaching method

It is a requirement that the applicant provides evidence of a steady rate of publications, a progression in publications over time, as well as current research activity in the form of recent publications at high international level. Experience with editorial experience, citations, international networks and other research merits will be taken into account.
It is also a requirement that the applicant is enterprising, possesses good interpersonal skills and is a visible, active participant in the department’s daily activities, in addition to being willing to engage in disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration across the department.
Ability to teach in Danish is a great asset and successful candidates who do not speak Danish (or possibly Swedish or Norwegian) will be requested to acquire the necessary skills in Danish within the first two years of service, so as to ensure that they can participate satisfactorily in teaching activities as well as in academic and administrative activities at the University. At the time of appointment, successful candidates must master English for academic purposes. Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to;

• original scientific production at an international level in relation to the above-mentioned field(s)
• development of the field
• experience with providing adaptive leadership in the development of research and teaching,
• the ability to promote and utilize research results,
• experience in teaching and education,
• ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperation,
• proven experience in securing external research funding.

The position will be filled according to the Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities.

Commencing salary will be minimum DKK 615.415,02 per year (1st april 2018 level) plus pension contribution (17,1 %).
