Project Manager – Competence Development

With an increased sales pipeline, Alfa Laval Aalborg are looking for a new colleague who can secure our global service network are delivering superior value.

The new sulphur emission regulations starting January 1st 2020 are causing an increased activity within our service unit as some shipowners may need to upgrade their boiler plant to meet the new requirements. Therefore, we are looking for a new colleague in our International Marine Service department situated in our Boiler Service organisation, who can ensure our +50 International Service Engineers (ISE) are sufficiently trained for the new solutions.

International Marine Service handles all service and commissioning tasks, and you will be a valued part of our organisation supporting our Global Technical Specialists (GTS) and International Service Engineers (ISE), achieving high technical competence levels prior to the new emission regulations enforced in 2020.

Naturally, this function will be a bridge between the IMS organization and the Product Centre Boilers.

Your primary tasks will be:

• Responsible for the technical competency levels in International Marine Service in close cooperation with the Global Service Operation Manager
• Understand the different competencies required for the new solutions and convert understandings into actions
• In cooperation with relevant stakeholder’s, initiate competency mapping globally and identify gaps, using an analysing approach for creating a sound overview over the global competency level
• Plan, structure and coordinate trainings for ISE & GTS, primarily in Aalborg, Denmark, but also globally
• Continuously evaluate, coordinate and rethink the ability to achieve the technical levels required to meet the regulation demands
• Ensure continuously feedback to all ISE’s, informing about new releases (software, hardware and lessons learned)
• Continuously improve the commissioning workflow processes

Do you have the courage to change the way we work? 
To thrive in this position, you originally have a relevant technical or business education, and have been working for the last couple of years within the marine or offshore business, in a role where you have experience in how to connect competency development with job performance. Preferably you have experience with developing training plans, coordination of training and evaluation of competency levels achieved. You either have technical experience or a technical mindset that enables you to understand the required technical competency levels to ensure a well delivered commissioning job. If you are a newly educated e.g. as a Marine Engineer, and are up for the challenge, we welcome your application too. As a person you are curious, motivated for developing training solutions and you are indestructible when it comes to changing attitudes and motivating the current organisation to perform commissioning, according to new procedures and guidelines. Well spoken and written English skills are essential for this job.
