Successful robot company seeks razor-sharp software developer The position: We seek the brightest of bright sparks to work in our R&D department. You will be involved in challenging development work within robot and automation technology. As a developer, you will work as part of a team, which is collectively responsible for designing, planning and coding new functions for our robots. This position requires you to work very independently and you will be given a great deal of responsibility. You will be in a position to select technologies, products and methods. We are looking for three strong candidates with expertise in one or more of the following fields: Primary tasks: •Making robot programming become easy •Developing the user interface •Optimising data structures •Compiler technology •Track modelling, robotic control •Java Swing programming •Linux •Build server: Hudson •Bash scripts •Latex You will also work with the following: Focus on giving users a positive experience of working with robots Tasks related to rapid response from the GUI, clear and simple screens, etc. Testing and developing existing and new functions Tasks in relation to software releases (in this respect you will have a key role in the team) Ongoing system maintenance. Writing controller code in C and C ++ It will be a distinct advantage if you have experience of working with object-oriented programming and/or robot technologies. Your professional qualifications: We expect you to have experience of working with several of the tasks listed above, either via your studies or employment. And, naturally, you are fluent in written and oral English and can produce documentation in English for use inside and outside the company. Your educational qualifications: You are a computer scientist, software engineer or hold another relevant qualification and have strong software development skills. Your personal qualifications: It is imperative that you are passionate about software development and have an analytical approach to your work. We expect you to be able to create an immediate overview of new issues and technologies, and that you write clear, effective and well-documented code. You thrive on analysing and resolving complex issues. You can work independently while maintaining focus on the team's common goals and values.
