The Niels Bohr Institute (NBI) announces the opening of the position secretary at the Cosmic DAWN Center. We are looking for a highly motivated administrative guru who thrives in a busy innovative environment and is solution oriented.

About DAWN
The Cosmic Dawn Center (DAWN) is a new international basic research center supported by the Danish National Research Foundation. DAWN is located in Copenhagen at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, and at the Space division of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU-Space). The center is dedicated to uncovering how and when the first galaxies, stars and black holes formed, through observations with the prime telescopes of the next decade (ALMA, JWST, Euclid, E-ELT, HST) as well as through theory and simulations.

The position
In this new position, the successful candidate will play an important role in providing administrative support to an energetic team at our Center of Excellence. Assignments include assisting the Head of Section and the Center Leader with travel arrangements, preparation of expense reports, meeting planning, calendar management and ad hoc tasks. You will work closely with the Center Coordinator on event planning, guest visits, and social media tasks. General support to the scientific staff involves everything from assisting with system reporting tasks, procurement, support for section budget management, planning and support for Bachelors, Masters and PhD defenses.

You will be part of both a local administrative team of 7 and the administration at NBI with colleagues in similar positions.

This is a full time position and the preferred work hours are 9.00 -16.30 on Mondays – Thursdays, and 9.00-16.00 on Fridays with some flexibility.

Qualifications
We expect that you have administrative experience and preferably at a university or in academic environment. You must be IT system savvy and have the ability to think outside of the box when faced with challenges.
You should thrive in a dynamic international environment and adapt well to a fast pace and to ever-changing conditions. It is important that you are a highly organized team player and have a positive approach to your tasks. You speak and write both English and Danish fluently.

Terms of employment
The position is permanent and available from 1 April 2019, or upon agreement. The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organizations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and it officers in the state.

The position as administrative officer is in salary group 3 rate 1, the basic monthly pay currently amounts to DKK 26.374, 17 per month. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
