Can you work with challenging and complex issues in an internal audit function? Do you want to engage in the audit of operational, financial and compliance risks and also have the opportunity to be involved in all internal audit areas? 

Join us and become Senior Audit Specialist or Lead Audit Specialist in Internal Audit where you’ll help support the financial and business performance creation in one of Northern Europe’s leading energy groups with great societal impact in an exciting period. Internal Audit helps the Group achieve its goals through a systematic approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes. 

The department is responsible for assessing whether the processes are appropriate and function properly to ensure that risks are identified and managed appropriately and that quality and continuous improvement are supported by company business processes and controls. Other tasks include ensuring that significant financial and operational information and management information is accurate, reliable and timely. Finally, we’re responsible for identifying and addressing significant legal and regulatory issues affecting the company, and for ensuring that our employees act in accordance with internal policies, guidelines, standards, etc. We also help to ensure that the company’s resources are used effectively, are appropriately safeguarded and procured in the most economical way. 

We’re looking for two new colleagues.

 

Your key tasks will be to

• ensure the planning, execution and reporting of operational, financial and compliance audits as well as participating in handling the company’s whistleblower scheme, which is rooted in Internal Audit
• perform audit of financial instruments, including various derivatives related to processes and controls in front, middle and back-office functions as well as processes and controls pertaining to valuation
• participate in legal compliance audits, including securing compliance with financial regulation such as EMIR, MiFID II, REMIT and the Market Abuse Directive, the Group’s setup for bribery and corruption prevention and the Group’s established due diligence procedures related to suppliers and other business partners
• participate in ethical compliance audits focusing on knowledge of and compliance with the Group’s Corporate Governance Policy, aiming at reducing the risk of fraud, corruption and other forms of inappropriate business conduct
• act as a trusted business adviser to various layers of our management related to operational, compliance and financial issues to ensure and optimise business excellence.

 

You’ll also participate in projects within the department’s other areas of work related to the audit of risk management and financial auditing.

 

Your competences include that you

• have extensive experience as an auditor, preferably from one of the major audit and consultancy firms and/or a large internal audit department with relevant experience from the energy or financial sector
• have an educational background as an auditor, e.g. state-authorised public accountant, the Danish cand.merc.aud. (MSc in business economics and auditing) degree or equivalent, preferably with certifications such as CIA or CRMA
• preferably have a broad profile that also enables you to contribute to risk management and operational audit projects
• preferably have experience with audit of financial instruments, including derivatives, and preferably experience with audit of compliance functions and compliance risks as well as dealings with whistleblower cases
• have a preference for working in a structured manner which includes adhering to deadlines with focus on quality and results, and you can also work in teams and are proactive and ready for change.

 

In addition, for these positions, you must be able to understand complex business processes and have the ability to go into depth whenever necessary. You must be able to express yourself in English and preferably also in Danish. 

In cooperation with our stakeholders, it’s important that you’re outgoing, self-motivated, result-oriented and able to understand complex scopes. You possess the ability to relate critically and constructively to the tasks at hand and are able to communicate in a clear manner while providing pragmatic solutions.
