Senior Business Analyst for analysing developments in the US power market

Can you provide expert guidance on energy trends to one of the leading green energy companies in Northern Europe?

 

Join us and become Senior Business Analyst in Markets & Investment Support where you’ll be responsible for analysing the long-term development of the US power market. The team currently consists of three economists having the responsibility for developing and running our company’s long-term power market model for the US. The results are used in investment recommendations on, for example, offshore wind and in financial forecasts. Markets & Investment Support is part of the Finance department and is responsible for forecasting the commodity prices applied in all investments, conducting commodity market research and functioning as secretariat for the Group’s Investment Committee.

 

Your key tasks will be to

• analyse and forecast key trends in the US power market
• update our long-term US electricity price forecasts, including reviewing the input data for the model
• prepare PowerPoint presentations of analysis results for senior management
• cooperate with internal stakeholders on discussing and analysing key issues.

 

Your competences include that you

• have a master’s degree in either engineering or economics
• have a strong personal drive, determination and initiative
• are analytically strong and have a flair for working with complicated analytical challenges
• preferably have knowledge about the US power market
• speak and write English fluently.

 

Experience with analysis of power markets and running complex models will be an advantage.

 

It’s important that you enjoy taking the lead on your tasks and follow them through to the end. You’re able to work systematically and deliver high-quality solutions, and you have a results-oriented and value-adding approach to your work. In addition, you can create results through teamwork and develop good relationships with your colleagues and stakeholders. Finally, you’re a strong communicator with a sense of detail, and you have sound knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
