We are looking for a Senior Category Manager to develop and drive new sourcing projects and strategy in collaboration with our Global IT organisation. Our new Senior Category Manager will act as project manager, sourcing professional and become a close advisor to our internal customers in IT. The job is a great opportunity for the right candidate to develop and strengthen various project management skills and knowledge within IT. This position provides the opportunity for unique exposure to a global organisation, stakeholder landscape and cross-category projects as well as the opportunity to ensure best-in-class customer relations.

Corporate Procurement is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk and for defining and driving the global procurement strategy. Corporate Procurement consists of 140 employees based in Denmark and India, and globally 400 people work in procurement.

Corporate Procurement is anchored with direct report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Novo Nordisk. 

 

The Position 

As Senior Category Manager in Corporate Procurement you will handle a wide selection of sourcing related tasks and drive strategically important projects. Your main role will be to work towards developing and creating new category strategies through solid project management, sound and fact-based analysis and your insight into customer needs.   

Specifically, the Senior Category Manager we are looking for will be responsible for driving pipelines across several areas of Novo Nordisk as well as being responsible for implementing our operating model with our international sales organization, including capturing supplier and cost synergies. As a Senior Category Manager, you will proactively define overall project goals and deliverables in close collaboration with the project owner. You will be responsible for following up sourcing project process and deliverables. IT Hardware and Infrastructure portfolio will be your key responsibility. You will lead and facilitate internal customers in developing and implementing category strategies and proactively plan sourcing activities for the next 2-3 years.  

Finally, you will handle customer relations effectively and drive business development and sourcing projects while acting as a professional sparring partner with the ability to identify and communicate key messages in a clear and concise manner, drive constructive dialogues through key professional insights and develop thoughtful recommendations taking the overall organizational and management perspectives into consideration.   

  

Qualifications 

The right candidate is looking for the next step in their career within procurement and project management and is motivated by developing and driving new high potential sourcing projects.   

We expect you to have completed a Master's Degree in, business administration, finance, supply chain management or similar with excellent results. You have solid negotiation experience, handling large IT vendors and have several years of experience working in a customer focused role within procurement, project management, business development or sales from a leading organisation or management consultancy.  

You are self-driven and can create results by motivating costumers, colleagues and project teams. You have great stakeholder management skills and can drive change management in a diverse customer landscape using your leadership skills to influence and impact key stakeholders. You are analytically strong and have an international mind-set, probably from working in a global organisation.  

We expect you to be curious and have an interest in understanding the value chain in a large organisation. Finally, you have excellent communication and presentation skills and you are used to having senior and top management as your key stakeholders. You work fluently in English.
