Can you build the right supply chain for LEO Pharma’s most important new product?
LEO Pharma has set an ambitious goal of becoming the world’s preferred dermatology care partner. To make this come true, we are entering into the biologics area with 100% commitment! That is why we need you and your understanding of the biotech industry. You will take on a role as a “Virtual Site Manager” for potentially one of the most important products in LEO Pharma’s history looking to significantly benefit the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people around the globe.
Build the setup of the future
Your job will be to establish a best-in-class contract manufacturing supply chain for this new product, which is currently in phase 3 trials and is expected to be launched in 2021. When turning the key you will have ensured that all launches are executed flawlessly and that subsequently all markets are provided with uninterrupted supply in order to achieve peak growth. This role could very well be the most impactful in your career.
Your primary tasks will be to:
- Establish the supply chain for the new product
- Develop strategic and operational plans for the manufacturing network
- Ensure that the setup is designed to support performance management – simple and easy
- Prepare for successful, simultaneous launches in the US, EU and Japan
- Be overall responsible for tech transfer in/out of and within the externalized network
- Build and manage the relationship with our external partners and contract manufacturers
- Ensure manufacturing capabilities and execution for lifecycle product development/improvements
- Continually identify and implement cost reductions throughout the supply chain to improve profitability
You will naturally ensure that plans and activities are aligned with the overall strategy. When going into the operational phase after launch, we decide together on your role going forward – responsible for the operational management and/or a more development-oriented role. You can look forward to travelling approx. 25-30 days per year to meet partners and colleagues, primarily to the US where we have our contract manufacturers. Related to this you must be able to plan and work across time zones.
Solid experience across supply chain management and bio-pharmaceuticals
We are looking for a senior profile with specific experience within the area of biologics. As such, you must bring a profound understanding of the value chain within development and production of biologics with the ability to identify risks and drive issues to resolution.
You must thrive in a highly visible role where you are the one that initiates and drive things forward. This takes an open minded and positive approach and the ability to present yourself in the appropriate manner whether you are addressing top management or a junior colleague. This is more than anything else a team effort, and you can only succeed, if you think and act as a team player – and lead through fact based influence and not through reporting lines.
Your professional CV comprises:
- 10+ years’ experience within manufacturing and supply chain management including pre-launch activities
- Biotech understanding and expertise (mammalian fermentation, protein chemistry, cell culture, purification, aseptic fill/finish, etc…)
- Project management and stakeholder management experience
- A track record showing that you have the energy level needed to deliver in long term and highly complex projects

You will join a small and agile supply chain and business development team in the Biologics & External Manufacturing value stream based at LEO Pharma’s headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen. We are globally responsible for development and operation of the supply chain setup related to biologics / the innovative portfolio.
