Would you like to strengthen our numerical capabilities moving us forward as a pioneer in making offshore wind a sustainable energy source?
Join us and become Senior or Lead Numerical Specialist in our cross-functional Numerical Competence Centre where you, along with your colleagues, will work alongside the domain specialists to design and implement software systems ranging from function level systems with dedicated hardware to team-level workflow scripting. Design is often iterative, and implementation is done by either the domain specialists (under our guidance), our team, group IT or by external consultants. Furthermore, we help ensure the quality of our engineering tools by facilitating the implementation of good software engineering practices such as version control and systematic testing. Hereby, we reduce the costs of energy and operational risks, which will make offshore wind a key element to address the climate challenge for our modern society.
Your key tasks will be to
- participate as resource or adviser in the design, implementation and operation of software systems
- design and/or implement software as requested by the Offshore organisation
- facilitate the use of basic software engineering practices, including version control and automatic testing
- review software developed elsewhere in the organisation (including testing procedures)
- act as a link between domain specialists and Group IT.
Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for leading deliverables to large software and modelling-related projects and for maturing our processes in relation to the development of numerical tools. You’ll ensure the streamlining of data formats and tools building through the Offshore organisation.
Your competences include that you
- hold a PhD or master’s degree in the natural sciences or a related area, e.g. computer science, physics, mathematics etc.
- have extensive experience with software programming, architecture and solutions
- have expert knowledge of modelling and/or optimisation, enabling you to assist in a variety of tasks in clear alignment with the overall strategy.
In addition, the ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of computer science and experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence, finite element modelling and design of (optimisation) algorithms as well as a proven track record within operations analysis and discrete mathematics.
