You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to our strategy of strengthening our position as leading player within the offshore drilling industry We Offer Our fleet within the Deep Water segment has grown this year with four new build drillships - in total, we will have nine units consisting of midwater & deepwater semi-submersibles and drillships. To support the growth, we are currently looking for an Assistant Asset Manager to join our team, to attend to the four drillships on a daily business. The four drillships are highly specified deepwater drilling units capable of drilling up to 12,000 feet water depth, and wells up to 40,000 feet deep. The first two are in operation in the US Gulf of Mexico, the third is currently undergoing acceptance test and the fourth will be delivered before the end of 2014. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to strengthening our position as the leading player within the offshore drilling industry. It will be an opportunity for you to enhance your people management skills and unfold your impressive offshore proficiency in a highly international environment. As the right hand to the Asset Manager, you will be working next to the top management of Maersk Drilling and as such be in the very heart of the business. The position gives an excellent insight into all aspects of deepwater drilling, financial and operational management. Your new work place is in Lyngby, Denmark. Key Responsibilities You will be part of the Asset team and report directly to the Asset Manager, who has the overall responsibility for the operation and management of our Deep Water fleet , which represents invested capital in excess of USD 4 billion. You are the liaison between the rig teams and our onshore functions, such as HR, Finance, Legal, Commercial etc., and you tie together the various operational issues that arise when working and living on a drilling rig. Overall, you follow up on the performance across the asset, and are deeply involved in operational and financial aspects. As the industry is undergoing significant changes you will in many ways be acting as a change agent, so good communication skills, a continuous drive to improve and challenge existing ways will be beneficial. As a coordinator between the rigs, you will be in daily contact with the rig teams with a daily focus on uptime, mechanical and human issues, safety and financial aspects. In addition, you will be the focal point for the four rig teams in relation to our head quarter functions and will be required to provide operational input into the design of future rigs. We give high priority to safety, and one of your focus areas will be to ensure optimization and enhancement of safety and operational performance. You must expect a certain amount of travelling in the position - sometimes on short notice. Who we are looking for You have backed your experience with a university degree. We expect that you are well-versed in the offshore industry and have a good notion of life on a drilling rig. You have a broad operational background which will allow you to grasp the implications and provide direction and effective leadership. You have excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Lastly, you are willing to give your wholehearted attention to a job, where your political skills will be challenged, but at the same time you will have the advantages of working in a large international company.
