You will lead, shape and own the commercial strategy for the upcoming launch in Denmark of a next-generation treatment of type 2 diabetes called Oral Semaglutide which is the first ever GLP-1 analogue to be administered as a tablet. As part of this role you will also have the opportunity to support launches in other countries in Business Area Europe North & Central.

About the department

Diabetes Marketing is responsible for generating and utilising customer and patient insights, and driving the development of our commercial strategies for our existing product portfolio, as well as driving new product launches. We work to define the strategic potential of pipeline products, developing and executing comprehensive pre-launch and launch plans to secure our success, improve patient outcomes and maintain and grow our product portfolio.

 

Oral Semaglutide will compete in a diabetes market that is highly dynamic with standards of care changing due to new product launches and certain product classes proving cardiovascular benefits leading to significant guideline changes. Oral Semaglutide is going to accelerate these dynamics as it represents a unique and new opportunity for physicians when treating type 2 patients.

 

The position

We are expanding Diabetes Marketing with a Commercial Head of Oral Semaglutide. In this position you will be responsible for setting the direction for the cross functional launch team and collaborate with stakeholders from both the affiliate and from our regional and global teams. You will report to the Marketing director and will be part of a European “Oral Semaglutide Leadership Team” where you have impact on the regional and global Oral Semaglutide strategies and execution. 

 

Key deliverables include initiating and executing the go-to-market strategy for the upcoming launch where you will develop and execute both a short, mid and long term commercial strategy for Oral Semaglutide.

 

To ensure a successful launch you will develop the brand campaigns and marketing programmes, e.g. HCP digital, medical education, patient programmes etc. In collaboration with key stakeholders you will provide input to sales budgets, P&L and cost budgets and you will contribute towards the delivery of field force training in the brand strategy, positioning, and product focus.

 

You will monitor the market dynamics and product performance and provide actionable insight and recommendations to the business on the development of the brand. Furthermore, you will help to increase the organisational knowledge of the diabetes market and work closely with health economics to ensure the marketing plans can be implemented in the local health economies.

 

Qualifications

You have a proven track record of working in cross-functional teams and have a broad capability profile. You have worked extensively with primary care and launch experience to primary care will be prioritised.

 

That experience has given you an in-depth knowledge of the Danish health system which is required for this position. Furthermore, you hold a relevant academic degree and you are an expert in all marketing processes including strategic planning, market modelling and forecasting, segmentation and targeting.

 

You are also very familiar with digital channels and navigate naturally in this field. As a person you are strong in direction setting and you are known for your solid interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
