Grundfos has a strategic focus on digitalisation and we want to explore value creation based on data in an opportunistic and fast experimental way. Here is your chance to use your computer science and data analyst competences in customer-oriented activities. You get the opportunity to influence how we work with digitalisation as you work on many different business areas across the organisation. You will join the department of Fluid Mechanics in Bjerringbro, Denmark. Fluid Mechanics is a part of Grundfos Research & Technology and we are 5 colleagues responsible for optimising the Grundfos product programmes, analysing and making sense of data. Moreover, we carry out multi-physics simulations and demonstrate novel hydraulic technologies. You refer to Manager, Christian Rasmussen. ”You become part of an international team with a great atmosphere. And you will work closely with another data scientist who has 10+ years of experience in making sense of data for internal use combined with pump domain knowledge. His focus is on optimising product programmes,” explains Christian. What is the job about? As Data Analyst, you are responsible for making sense of data to offer targeted value creation for Grundfos customers. It includes using and developing tools to analyse and visualise data. Thus, you work with an external network of universities, partners and customers and an internal network of business developers, program managers and IT back office to apply state-of-the-art data analysis and optimisation methods. As such, you find and translate domain knowledge to be used in data analysis, e.g. on pump operation, and in that process, you will be involved in different projects where you participate in case driven experimentation and demonstration. An example of such project is the AQTap – our new UN award winning water dispenser for developing countries – from where we collect data. In the process, we look at the placement of the AQTap and how it should be placed to cover the largest area possible. Similarly, we will use data for other products to optimise our business and products.Our data provides solutions that we would not otherwise have seen and along the way, we also learn about the customers’ situation and pains. “Your challenge will be to work fast to get the results we need in time but at the same time to also get enough detail to get satisfactory solutions that solve our customers’ pains. So it is absolutely essential that you can make the data concrete and useable,” says Christian. What do you need to apply? You have a degree within Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, etc. or a background in BI or Statistics. This is combined with practical experience in applying data analysis and visualisation. Moreover, you have knowledge of basic statistics and preferably also time-series prediction and business models. You speak and write English fluently. “On a personal level, you know how to create results through collaboration and networking and you communicate openly about challenges and results – also to non-specialists. Taking an analytical, structured and systematic approach, you are capable of performing analysis and making sense of data independently, and finally, you excel in a multi-cultural organisation,” finishes Christian.
