About the Global Finance graduate programme

In Novo Nordisk, Finance focuses on driving competitive value creation. We are looking for people to help us transform numbers into actionable insights, to act as partners to line of business (eg research and development, production sites and sales affiliates) and to create a solid platform for the company’s future success. Financial management, ensuring financial compliance, running finance projects and conduct business cases, and handling risks proactively are just a few of our activities.

 

During the programme you will work with senior managers and build an international network of world-class colleagues, establishing yourself as one of tomorrow’s key people in global finance at Novo Nordisk.

 

We’ve designed the Global Finance graduate programme so that, following its successful completion, you will be equipped with the necessary skills and experience to become an integral part of our company – typically with a permanent position in Denmark or elsewhere in our global organisation.

 

The position

During the 2-year programme you will undertake four rotations of 6-months duration. Three rotations will take place in our corporate headquarters in Denmark and one rotation will be in a global sales affiliate or production site. Examples of recent international locations include the US, Brazil, Panama, China and the Philippines.

 

The rotations are shaped to suit your development needs, while meeting our business requirements and to ensure you build the required competences needed to become one of “tomorrow’s key people” in Novo Nordisk. Below is an example of how the rotations could be shaped:

 

• Rotation 1

Placed in Corporate Financial Planning in Denmark, you will be managing the financial plans for the entire company and convey the performance to stakeholders. You must quickly get up-to-speed on the Novo Nordisk business to understand the story behind the numbers. Your key deliverables are reports going to senior management and creating presentations for Executive Management and Board of Directors’ meetings.

 

• Rotation 2

You will be working in Novo Nordisk Consulting (our internal management consultancy) in Denmark on a strategic project, typically engaged with line of business in a joint team. Here you will gain valuable exposure to core project skills such as stakeholder management, project management, problem solving and structured top-down communication.

 

• Rotation 3

Working for one of our affiliates or production sites located outside Denmark, you will get true international experience. The international rotation typically contains elements of all the different finance functions, working on supporting the line of business in managing our sales or production.

 

• Rotation 4

Working in Treasury, supporting the Cash Management team in Denmark, you will ensure the appropriate cash flows in the affiliates to fund our growth through joint sales forecasts, negotiate with banks and support the rollout of our in-house bank program.

Qualifications

To apply for the Global Finance graduate programme, you ideally have:

 

• A master’s degree from 2018 or 2019 preferably in a relevant subject, for example finance, economics, business administration or accounting
  Please note: if you are graduating outside this timeframe then check out these opportunities: student jobs, internships and permanent entry level jobs
• Preferably 6 month’s international experience from working, studying or voluntary work
• Relevant work experience or extracurricular activities obtained next to your studies
• No more than 1 year of work experience after finishing your master’s
• Above average academic achievements
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• High drive and ambitious goals
• Eagerness to learn and willingness to challenge status quo
• An international mind-set and be globally mobile
• Team-player skills
• Professional fluency in English
