Our new Grid Code Consultant will have the possibility to influence tomorrow's advanced grid connection requirements and specify electrical design requirements for advanced wind power plants. Working with various stakeholders worldwide, leading or conducting feasibility studies with highly specialized colleagues and providing inputs to technical and strategic decisions like roadmaps, market- and product segmentation you will have a key position and a significant business impact. Plant Power Systems (PPS) is a part of Plant Solutions, within our Technology organization. Plant Solutions is responsible for the products and services, which enable our regional sales organizations to sell, install and service turnkey wind power plants. The products and services transforming a number of turbines into a Wind Power Plant on par with traditional power plants. This includes Electrical grid connection and compliance, SCADA systems, Data acquisitions, Data analysis and Siting. The PPS department is responsible for electrical grid integration of the Vestas turbine portfolio. We have an impact on the total value chain from market requirements to development of solutions to advanced technical training and support of our regional sales organizations - with the main purpose to ensure grid connections to various on- and offshore Power Systems worldwide. PPS consist of two different competence domains working smoothly together: Electrical Engineering and Controls Development. Electrical Engineering is responsible for collecting and influencing the electrical requirements from Transmission System Operators written in Grid Codes as well as designing solutions - mainly to be implemented in our Power Plant Controller, which is a part of the SCADA system. Controls development is responsible for our core product: the Power Plant Controller incl. embedded and real time SW development, release management and support - also including HW development of all SCADA system products. Responsibilities: You main responsibility is to specify electrical requirements for both AC , DC, On - and Offshore grid interconnections for both firm requirements and forecasted evolution. You will be bridging the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and the various design teams in R&D. You will be working with the following challenges worldwide or in selected markets: Building networks and participating in Grid Code activities in order to supervise new requirements on behalf of Vestas and the wind industry Collecting requirements from Grid Codes worldwide Translating and interpreting grid codes to specifications used in design processes Communicating new requirements to product management and design teams in order to drive needed design changes. Leading technical feasibility studies across needed competencies in R&D in order to understand implications in product designs Using your knowledge, experience and inputs from work groups you will predict trends and future requirements creating product roadmaps Your key stakeholders will be TSOs, Regional sales business units, Product Management and Design teams. Qualifications: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electrical engineering Min. 10 years of relevant professional experience Experience with power system analysis like Voltage and Frequency ctrl, harmonic, LVRT etc. You may have worked with Grid operators, Power generators, Utilities, Grid consulting companies, Transmission- or Distribution companies. Knowledge within simulation like PSCAD, Power Factory, PSS/E etc. is an advantage You have the desire and the ability to understand and maintain overview of a wide range of advanced technical domains with primary focus at grid integration International working experience will be an advantage Good communication skills in English.
