Job Description

Dupont is seeking an experienced engineer to provide Manufacturing Technical support to operations in its DuPont Protection Systems Business. This position is a key part of a cross-functional team involving Plant Operations, Contract Manufacturing Operations and Administration, Technical, Technical Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain.  As such, this person will be involved with wage, professional, and management personnel in all groups and at multiple manufacturing sites. The person in this position is visible to all levels of management and the opportunities for career development are very broad depending on job performance and career desires.

In this role you will provide process, materials, and/or equipment engineering technical expertise to enable manufacturing operations to maintain production performance or restore process capability when the product or standard process is no longer safe, stable, predictable or in control. Work with others to improve products and processes by designing and implementing modifications ranging from incremental daily improvements to technology game changers. Develop and improve process instrumentation, control strategies, process safety, yields, capacity and uptime performance. Help to train personnel in the manufacturing line organization to maintain and enhance operations. Provide support for technical issues and assists in trouble shooting process or equipment issues.  The role requires at least 50% travel.

The job scope includes, but is not limited to:

• Driving process and product performance improvements on existing assets to improve uptime, yield, quality, and cost using data-driven processes and product analyses and improvement methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Predictive and Preventative Maintenance
• Developing, defining, and supporting implementation and demonstration of manufacturing scale capability for new product and/or processes from Technology R&D lab scale (This may include assistance during R&D trials, product testing, and evaluation of new/current facility capabilities).
• Leading qualification of new products at existing assets and qualification of existing products on a second source of assets
• Serving as technology gatekeeper - Specifying, documenting and maintaining process technology and managing changes in technology to ensure the process delivers product that meets customer needs and business needs.
• Providing technical assistance to the contract operation facilities during production campaigns to resolve short-term complex issues and improve understanding of key principles affecting operations.
• Providing technical leadership to capital project teams to implement capacity, yield, or uptime improvements.
• Working with Quality Engineers and Contract Manufacturing personnel to ensure Quality systems and Best practices are documented appropriately.
  Representing DuPont to ensure services are provided in alignment with core values.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree or higher in Engineering
• Several years of experience as a process engineer or related experience in a manufacturing environment.  Experience working with textile chemistry and/or textile processes will be considered as a plus;
• Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to work smoothly with engineers, mechanics, operators, and managers in all functional organizations.
• Strong organization skills and commitment to detailed follow-up and meeting agreed timelines.
• Strong communication skills (written, oral, and formal presentations)
• Strong desire and demonstrated skills in providing 24x7 area support and troubleshooting
• Demonstrated ability to understand manufacturing processes and best practices required to support operations.
• Multilingual including English
• Demonstrated experience in improving manufacturing asset performance
• Demonstrated experience in process and product expansion from lab scale to commercial process scale
• Capital project experience
• Six Sigma Certification  will be considered as an advantage

LOCATION

Primary location: Meyrin, Switzerland. Other locations near to regional offices in Europe are possible. Home office option is also available
