LEO Pharma is recruiting a Principal Medical Affairs Advisor to join the Global Medical Affairs team for topical psoriasis and actinic keratosis.
Global Medical Affairs is located in the company headquarter outside of Copenhagen. The position offers a unique opportunity to work within the leading company in dermatology with a global presence, improving people’s live around the world.
Strategic Partnering
You assume a vital position and responsibility within the strategic creation, customization and communication of differentiating medical data - aligned with the commercial brand strategy. You are key in providing medical input to strategic plans such as lifecycle plans, strategic launch plans, brand plans and global business plans where you amongst other assist in securing that clinical trial data supports marketing messages as defined by the global brand team (e.g. providing input to global study synopses, study protocols and final study report for global Phase IIIb/IV programs).
You also take part in the development and implementation of Medical Education initiatives (internal and external), providing medical marketing input to clinical and regulatory development plans and development of IIS strategy. You review and approve educational and promotional material, including slide kits, CME programs, websites etc.
Furthermore, you are involved in developing the global publication strategy and plan (including manuscripts, congress abstracts, symposium presentations and poster presentations) in collaboration with the Strategic Publication Team, and actively participate in the publication process.
By working closely with dedicated Medical Affairs staff in Regions around the globe, you suggest, develop and support scientific affairs activities and encourage best practice sharing.
In company headquarters, you collaborate closely with the many teams and work in a matrix of highly professional and specialized colleagues within global functions, such as drug discovery, clinical development, regulatory affairs, market access and marketing. A good partnership with corresponding functions and cross functional teams in regions and key markets around the world is pivotal for our success.
Externally, you act as a liaison with medical thought leaders, working as a communication link between LEO Pharma and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate is medical doctor or PhD with extensive life science background, and has previous global, regional or local experience from a pharmaceutical company. Clinical experience as a health care professional or a research background (clinical or basic science) and/or business education might be relevant, depending on relevance and extent.
The right candidate must be a team-player with good interpersonal skills, appreciate the value of cross functional collaboration, have a strong drive, be well-structured and perseverant and a strategic mind-set. You are able to analyze fairly complex issues, challenge existing practice and develop proposals to enhance existing processes and practices.
The candidate must be fluent in oral and written English (company language) and have strong presentation skills.
Considerable international travel is to be expected.
