The catalyst between business and IT

As Product Owner, you will focus on Data products within the Big Data Engineering area . Thus, you will be the catalyst for converting business requirements into user stories and tasks, enabling the Engineering team to deliver great products according the business expectations. In doing so, you:

• Own and manage the backlogs of our internal Engineering team and you set the high-level priorities for our external ingestion team as well

• Gather end user requirements and manage the development cycle in close collaboration with the Business stakeholders, Development teams and the Delivery Manager within Big Data Engineering

• Help facilitate planning and prioritization of the work being completed while considering the various interests early on and involving stakeholders regularly

• Help guide new principles and processes that enable the appropriate governance, help define requirements in line with what is technically doable, and help ensure that solutions follow LEGO Standards

Big Data Engineering

The department is part of the Engagement technology and Analytics area and is focused on designing, building and maintaining data products. The department is creating solutions for all areas of the LEGO Group and is a cross functional team, which have full-stack responsibility of the solutions we create. The department have a close relationship with the analytical teams to drive the data driven decision agenda in the LEGO Group. Thus, a broad mindset on cross-organisational alignment is necessary.

The team delivers a range of exiting products like:

Recommender Engines, Image recognition, and of course, secures that all relevant data sources are ingested in the Data Lake and made available to the relevant business stakeholders.

Strong communicator and networker

This is a role, in which you need to have excellent communication skills, particularly as you will be working with many stakeholders and establishing networks. You excel at paying attention to detail and are structured in the way you work. You enjoy working in a team, yet independently, and you use your competencies instead of your mandate to gain influence. Finally, you actively seek out new knowledge of Business and IT trends to stay ahead of development and explain how they support our business goals.

Your qualifications:

• You have 3-5 years of experience from a similar role, as a Product owner, Tech Lead or Project Manager giving you a solid understanding of software development

• You have a solid background in agile development and preferably knowledge of Scrum

• It’s a plus if you are a certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified PO(CSPO).

• You hold a BSc or MSc in Business Administration, Engineering or IT

• You have a solid process understanding and enjoy optimizing it for the sake of maximizing customer value

• You have a high regard for stakeholder management, know how to navigate and create strong coalitions to achieve the business goals

• You speak and write English fluently
