Applications are invited for a position in Sustainable Supply Chain Management at the Centre for Sustainable Supply Chain Engineering, Department of Technology and Innovation, University of Southern Denmark in Odense. The position is available from August 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The applicant should have proven research record and experience in one or more of the following fields and be able to contribute to the development of the centre’s research areas.

• Sustainable / green supply chain, sustainable / green manufacturing
• Smart factory / Industry 4.0 environment focusing on sustainable supply chain
• Linking Industry 4.0 and circular economy with supply chain focus
• Resource and energy efficient supply chain / manufacturing
• Sustainable service supply chain management
• Sustainable operations management
• Corporate sustainability, sustainable consumption and production 

The position involves participation in teaching activities, including teaching courses and supervising student projects in the B. Eng. programme in Global Management and Manufacturing, B. Eng. programme in Production Engineering and in the M.Sc. Eng. Programme in Operations Management. Also, the candidate will be involved in various teaching and research related activities.

Assistant professorship
The assistant professorship is a 3-year temporary position and requires completion of the Danish University Teaching Education certificate as part of the position.

Associate professorship
The associate professorship is a permanent position with obligation to research and teaching. Applicants for the associate professorship are required to possess research qualifications at level equivalent to what is achieved by a satisfactorily completed period of employment as assistant professor. Also, applicants are required to have received supervision and pedagogical upgrading and to have obtained a positive assessment of his or her teaching qualifications.

Requirements and qualifications
Candidates must have:

• A PhD degree in Operations and Supply Chain Management  with the green / sustainability focus 
• Documented experience with research dissemination in international scientific journals and conferences
• Significant experience in fund raising and playing an active role in securing research funding to support  the research activities of the centre
• Extensive experience with industrial collaboration 
• Participation in Danish courses for non-Danish speaking applicants is expected for permanent positions
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
• Good communication skills in English

The successful candidate must have a proven capability and experience with participation in larger research projects, involving national and international partners within the research field. Further, the candidate is expected to collaborate with existing faculty groups on joined national and international research projects and to participate in attracting external research Funding.

As part of the overall assessment of the applicant’s qualifications, an interview may be applied.

Appointment to this position may also include teaching obligations in regard to related degree programmes.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), Cirkulære om overenskomst for Akademikere i staten 2013
