The Department of Clinical Medicine, Danish Pain Research Center, Aarhus University, invites applications for a full-time 2-year research assistant or postdoctoral position in experimental pain research. An extension of the employment is possible if additional funding is obtained.

The position is available from 1 May 2019, or as soon as possible hereafter.

Job abstractJV_description
You are expected to run our part of a multinational randomized clinical trial. The trial is part of an EU project, PainCare, which is an IMI 2 (Innovative Medicines Initiative) collaboration (https://www.imi.europa.eu/projects-results/project-factsheets/imi-paincare). The trial is a 4-way crossover study with three single drug and placebo administrations in healthy subjects. The purpose is to examine the effect of the drugs on peripheral nerve excitability using threshold tracking. Before the trial starts, you are expected to do reproducibility studies and refinement of a method for perception threshold tracking.

Your profile
Applicants should have clinical research experience. A Master’s degree or a PhD in medicine or a related field is required. Experience with pain research and/or neurophysiology is an advantage but not a requirement.

• Good English-speaking skills and some Danish-speaking skills

The Danish Pain Research Center is a research unit affiliated with the Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University and the Department of Neurology, Aarhus University Hospital. The mission of the center is to understand the mechanisms of neuropathic pain to improve treatment.
