Global Research and Development in LEO Pharma devotes its efforts to develop innovative drugs for the treatment of skin diseases like psoriasis and eczema. In the early development phases, vital parts of succeeding is founded in 1) Understanding how the chemical properties of our compounds will impact the drug developability, i.e. pre-formulation analysis, and 2) Developing analytical methods to determine the assay and impurity profile for drug substance and drug product. We have an ambition to excel in this and that is why we need your scientific thinking!
Analytical chemistry and early phase projects with small molecules
You will immediately take an active, operational part in driving early research & development projects forward. Here you will get to use your scientific knowledge and analytical mindset.
In detail you will be expected to:
- Be an integral part of our project teams from lead optimization to phase 2 clinical trials, where you will bring your analytical knowledge into play in a project specific manner
- Develop and validate analytical methods (mainly HPLC) and conduct stability studies and pre-formulation studies by planning and reporting laboratory experiments together with our skilled technicians in a non-GMP environment. Occasionally preparing and conducting experiment in the analytical laboratory
- Occasionally you will handle GMP release of drug substance and drug product
- Write analytical documents for the health authorities relating to early phase clinical trials, such as IMPDs, and collaborate with CMOs in method validation and analysis of IMP productions
- Participate in cross-functional teams to continuously improve our ways of working across the organisation, e.g. within compliance and quality related issues.
Passionate profile with drive and ambitions
We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious scientist with an outgoing spirit. It is an advantage if you have a proven track record of analytical project work in the research and development phases in the pharmaceutical industry, and it is a further advantage if you have experience in compliance and quality. You hold a MSc and preferably a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences or related disciplines.
To help succeed in our ambition of excelling in early phase analytical work, you have a logical and analytical way of thinking, you are ready to challenge status quo, and you have a desire to communicate and collaborate across disciplines.
In our R&D environment it is important that you are curious and have a decisive, flexible and proactive mindset.
Early Formulation and Analytics
You will join 18 colleagues in the department Early Formulation and Analytics. Our focus is to impact and support the early oral and topical R&D projects within small molecules in LEO Pharma.
