Driving LEO Pharma’s engagement with key stakeholders

LEO Pharma is looking for an experienced public affairs senior manager in the Global Public Affairs function. In this role, you will be responsible for the relationships with external stakeholders who drive or shape the policies that determine LEO Pharma’s ability to help people achieve healthy skin and patients to get access to treatment.

LEO Pharma has embarked on a growth journey to become the preferred dermatology care partner in the world, dedicated to helping people achieve healthy skin. We have recently introduced our 2025 strategy, which aims to accelerate our efforts in innovative therapeutics while strengthening our established portfolio and our global footprint in medical dermatology.

Objectives

Global Public affairs oversees LEO Pharma’s political interests and promotes a political environment that ensures dermatological patients’ timely access to healthcare, by elevating the profile of medical dermatology and safeguarding essential business conditions. This includes relations with governments, patient organizations and industry.

We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs Senior Manager to oversee and develop our governmental affairs and industry relations. This includes relations to the Danish government, engaging in Industry groups and leading our memberships in Regional and Global Industry organizations. You will support the LEO Pharma’s Global Public Affair activities to promote a political environment, policies and legislations that ensure dermatological patients timely access to healthcare. This position furthermore drives issue management and support driving the global agenda for skin disease. You will report to the Senior Director Global Public Affairs and be based at LEO Pharma’s headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark, near Copenhagen.

Responsibilities and tasks:

Creating, and implementing LEO Pharma’s direction for governmental affairs with focus on and industry relations and overlooking memberships while ensuring internal coordination and alignment
Ensure continued political support to LEO Pharma as a global company with focus Denmark. Enhancing LEO Pharma’s footprint in Denmark and LEO Pharma business globally.
Monitoring policy, create internal newsletters and develop briefings for senior management
Building and nurturing strong internal relationships with key stakeholders and leading LEO Pharma’s internal public affairs community, advising senior management as well as affiliates
Support Global Public Affairs strategy development, roll out and communication

Requirements

10+ years of experience in international public affairs
University degree in political science, international public health or other health related fields
10 + experience working within the pharmaceutical industry. Global experience an asset
Experience working within or with governmental bodies and industry organizations
Public affairs experience in Denmark and a strong network in DK is a plus
Ability to network and work with LEO Pharma leadership and internal stakeholders on all levels (global, regional, local)
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities, and demonstrated capacity to work effectively with all levels
Strong external network with agencies, consultants, strategists
Fluent level of English, 2nd language is an asset
Diplomatic, strategic mindset, strong networker, engaging team player
Ability to execute, manage projects, budgets, and working with external vendors
Ability and willingness to travel frequently internationally, travel requirements approx. 30 days

Global Communication, Public Affairs & CSR is responsible for corporate branding, communication, public affairs, and corporate social responsibility. Global Public Affairs is helping LEO Pharma achieve its mission of helping people achieve healthy skin by engaging with external stakeholders who shape its external environment. This includes relations with governments, patient organizations and industry. LEO Pharma’s Global Public Affair promote a political environment, policies and legislations that ensure dermatological patients timely access to healthcare. We work towards strengthen the public prioritization of medical dermatology dermatological diseases and thereby supporting business. In addition, we provide insights and drive initiatives that support the launches of innovative products.
