Senior Project Manager for New Platform Development

About the department

The department is a newly established project organisation, where we are moving a brand new technology through development and into upscaling. Organizationally, the team is growing and the need to work with numerous stakeholders across Novo Nordisk is increasing. 

We are a part of Novo Nordisk Device Research & Development, which is the area responsible for the development of medical devices for self-treatment within all business areas of Novo Nordisk A/S. We invented the market for insulin injection devices with the launch of the world’s first insulin pen in 1985 and aim to further advance our offerings to people living with diabetes and their healthcare professionals through Digital Health solutions.

 

The position

You will have the overall managerial responsibility of 10-12 employees in the system engineering project team. Your team’s responsibility is diverse, ranging from requirement engineering, risk management, test protocols, technical writing of regulatory documents, UX and usability engineering. 

As a part of your managerial responsibility, you will drive performance management and set direction in order to ensure the development and delivery of all the required documentation for regulatory approval. We will only succeed, if you contribute to the optimization of our processes and ensure that we grow our organizational capabilities within your area of responsibilities. 

The entire project is based on a cross organisational cooperation and you will lead this cooperation across units encompassing Development, Regulatory, Production, Quality, Medical teams and Drug Development. 

Besides your responsibilities as a team manager you will be part of the department’s management team.

 

Qualifications

You have a MSc in engineering or similar, preferably 3-5 years of experience as a project manager and experience within people management. However, if you have a very strong experience within one of these two fields, we strongly encourage you to apply.

Your team will benefit from your strong experience and understanding of working with product management or product maintenance. An experience you have acquired in a production setting, a development organisation or within regulation preferably from the pharma industry or similar highly regulated environments.

You possess a great business sense and excel at engaging and supporting people to achieve their best while complementing project specified goals. It is natural for you to set direction and you quickly build strong working relationships with all types of stakeholders from different backgrounds. Good communication skills are a must including the ability to target your communication to a broad set of stakeholders at all organisational levels.

Long-term projects involve successes and setbacks. You thrive in making the successes happen, show resilience in periods of adversity and manage to bounce back on track – yourself and together with your employees. One of the competencies you draw on in these situations is your pro-activity and ability to drive tasks to the finish line.
