We are currently looking for a senior storage engineer to join our team, as a part of Core Operating System and Intelligent Edge, the Product Release and Security Services (PRSS) team is responsible for the services that provide signing, scanning for malware and certificate management for all Microsoft products and services. The impact that our engineers have is realized in virtually every product release at Microsoft. The PRSS infrastructure team (network, security, storage, and compute) is continually designing, automating, implementing and improving the security and availability of our next generation of infrastructure and software services. We currently manage multiple purpose-built state of the art facilities and 1000’s of devices (Enterprise Scale).

We are looking for an exceptional Service Engineer to help design, Implement, and operate (as needed) our core Storage architectures.

• Storage design, configuration, development, health and security monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Partner with network, security, storage and compute peers to design/maintain highly secure and available private cloud solutions.
• Automate defined processes to eliminate human error and increase availability and standards.
• Consult with service owners to on-board them to the service engineering principles that will increase security and availability of their services.

Qualifications

Qualifications 
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with designing and implementing Storage architectures that include DAS, SAN and NAS.
• Excellent Storage fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of Storage protocols i.e. SCSI, FC, iSCSI, FCOE, CIFS, Http etc.
• Comprehensive troubleshooting skills across the Storage stack
• Experience in enterprise automation using PowerShell, C#, or equivalent.
• Ability to work as a team player including mentoring and sharing of knowledge.
• Experience with large Datacenter deployments.
• Ability to take projects from beginning to end with little direct supervision.
• Ability to work effectively across teams to drive business and technology decisions.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Desire to learn new skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• BSc Computer Science
• Experience working in a secure datacenter environment.
• Solid understanding of network and computer security compliance standards and protocols.
• Experience Managing/Administering Windows Server environment.
• 10+ years’ experience with designing and implementing Storage architectures that include DAS, SAN and NAS

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
