Are you a professional or recently graduated Design Engineer with strong technical management skills, and are you experienced in coordinating and leading projects? Then it is you we are looking for. Design Engineer Test & Tools - a central staff function in Vestas, are responsible for designing, developing and commissioning test equipment used globally throughout Vestas’ production sites. For this position we seek a Design Engineer with experience in industrial automation; PLC programming and hands on experience with electrical systems. Responsibilities: You will be joining a group of 13 people who work dedicated with developing test equipment for the products of Vestas. Main part of our work is designing test equipment for electrical systems, panels, Converters etc, but our work also include developing test systems for hydraulic systems, generators etc. You will be one of the key persons in our development projects where you will be responsible for developing test programs. You will be involved in all stages of our projects, from early start until hand over to the internal customer. In this position your technical skills and thinking will be challenged every day as we don’t compromise on safety or quality. Your responsibilities will be: Development of test programs - You will of course have an extensive introduction to our programming tool Ensure that our test equipment executes the tests safely by complying to internal and external standards Ensure that the program you develop integrates safely with the deliveries from other stakeholders in the projects Ensure that the equipment we deliver fulfills internal and external legislation, standards and guidelines Develop and improve processes and standards for developing test equipment. Commissioning of test equipment at our factories world wide Provide on-site education of the end users of our equipment Ensure that the equipment is handed over to the costumer according to our processes. Ensure documentation and Quality assurance of the test equipment Qualifications: We expect that you hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Or similar) in Engineering, preferably as Marine Engineer or Electrical Engineer. You can be newly educated or already have some years of experience. Furthermore: You have knowledge to design automated systems with use of PLC systems and HMI systems You have knowledge to common communication standards, for example: Profibus; Modbus ; TCP/IP You have knowledge to relevant standards and legislation. Especially EN61439 and EN60204-1 Knowledge to standards within safety circuits will be an advantage You are experienced in theoretical as well as hands on working with electrical systems You are well familiar with trouble shooting on electrical systems Competencies: You characterize yourself as: An open and outgoing person with good communication skills Quality minded having a structured approach to your work Flexible and dedicated You can work on your own, but at the same time you are a team player, able to work cross functional and across different cultures.
