Product Management, Technical Sales Management EMEA North, BoP & SCADA The cost of wind energy is approaching that of conventional power sources. As wind turbines are making up a larger and larger part of the energy mix, grid operators are imposing tougher and tougher demands on wind power plants, both in terms of electrical components, performance and remote control. Designing wind power plants that are grid compliant is a challenge but critical to the business case certainty of Vestas’ customers, project investors and the wider wind industry. The Electrical and SCADA department’s task is to support our customers to design and build grid compliant wind power plants. The department currently consists of 5 engineers located in Denmark, Sweden, UK and Poland. Responsibilities: Your responsibilities as an Electrical Engineer will be to ensure: Support the Sales team with timely and correct responses to customer electrical requirements within areas such as transformer, converter, switchgear, generator, LV systems of the Wind Turbine and HSE; Prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders issued from our customers; Monitor and evaluate compliance with the local grid codes in our market; Participate in negotiations on electrical topics together with the Technical Bid Manager and with customers and their representatives; Support our Construction department with electrical support during construction of our Wind Power Plants; Grid Code Compliance testing with customer and utilities. You need strong coordination ability and act as the link between Customer, Technical Bid Manager and Technology & Service and Solutions. Qualifications: Engineering background (preferably Electrical Engineer or Degree in Electrical Power Systems. Similar discipline could be accepted) 3-6 years of experience in similar job Familiarity with relevant IEC design standards Experience in system studies for integration of power plants to the grid Commercial insight/interest. Experience working in customer facing role preferred Extensive experience in wind energy or in power generation. Experience with SCADA or automation beneficial. Fluent business English spoken and written essential. Other EU languages is a plus Competencies: People skills with ability to motivate those around you Comfortable and effective at working in high intensity environments with many demands on your time Used to travel (about 15% of the time) Ability to summarize technical topics for non-technical stakeholders Creative solution finding and high degree of motivation to satisfy customer needs Confidence talking with and presenting to external stakeholders (customers, grid operators, conferences Team Player What we offer: This position gives a great opportunity to make an impact on Vestas’ competitiveness in our Northern European markets.
