In the Innovation & Concepts department, new ideas are developed, matured and transformed into real-life projects and demonstrators to ensure that Vestas remains the industry leader in sustainable energy. You will be part of a dedicated and growing team of experts that fully lives the mission "Deliver best-in-class energy solutions for the benefit of Vestas' customers and the planet" - by initially integrating Photo Voltaic and Energy Storage Systems into our product offerings.

This will require knowledge of how variable renewable energy sources, like wind and solar in combination with storage, are integrated and interconnected and managed.

Responsibilities

• Performing all the steps of a techno-economic analysis - from power plant design, to transient annual simulation through to equipment costing and maintenance prediction.
• Performance and economics analysis of the wind power plants, hybrid power plant and plant components such as energy storage
• Evaluation and optimisation of techno-economic performance indicators for Vestas power plant solutions (such as CAPEX, OPEX, levelized electricity costs)
• Comprehensive cost and feasibility analysis for hybrid power plant, solar PV technology systems and energy storage systems that allows sensitivity analysis for variations in physical, cost, and financial parameters
• Define and develop processes for economic evaluation providing both quantitative and qualitative understanding of the impact of various plant designs / architectures
• Define requirements for a tool-kit to be used for techno-commercial evaluation of next generation renewable power plants and energy systems
• Participate in the development of a tool-kit to be used for techno-commercial evaluation of next generation renewable power plants and energy systems

Qualifications

• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Electrical or Power Engineering - or similar relevant background
• Preferably background in technical bidding, tender engineering and techno-economic analysis for power plants and/or energy systems
• Knowledge of components and subsystems within a renewable hybrid power plant
• Familiar with electrical BOP of renewable hybrid power plants and/or conventional power plants

Competencies

• Familiar with financial and performance modelling of energy systems
• Familiar with bottom-up costing for power plants and/or energy systems (RE to commodity, microgrids etc.)
• Preferably experience in understanding market and regulatory requirements that drive the economics of plant design and operation
• Understanding of new-age energy economics
• Proficient MS Office user and experience with pertinent software programs
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
• Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
• Effective verbal and written communication skills as required for the position
• Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player, capable of interacting with various stakeholders
• High drive and not afraid of challenging the existing while maintaining flow
• You find it interesting to work with other people in a large organisation and can build network across cultures and time zones
• You are open-minded and attracted by an international environment
