In that case we have an exciting opportunity for you, using state-of-the-art facilities within prototyping, reliability testing, manufacturing tools and production technologies.

Putting your own fingerprint on our projects
Oticon is a well-established, international company, which improves the life quality of people with a hearing disability worldwide. Our R&D department embraces the whole circle of development in-house, also including the development of our own chipsets. About 1000 people are working from our headquarters, and we have close colleagues located at our production site in Poland.

In this job, you will be part of Oticon’s group for Hearing Instrument Design (HID) in Copenhagen. We are part of the Hardware function and focus on the development of new triple brand platforms. Overall, we are about 50 highly skilled colleagues with electro-acoustic and mechanical backgrounds. Our goal is to deliver discreet industry leading hearing healthcare platforms through increased specialization and strategic reuse. We challenge conventional solutions to enhance both end-user and customer satisfaction. 

We work all the way from the early concept phases to final introduction to production. We focus on optimizing the parts for production in a close dialogue with the tool designers and process engineers. We make sure that all parts and the documentation is in perfect condition to transfer the platform from R&D to production. Your stakeholders will be employees dealing with the electro acoustical design, electronics design, audiology, production, FEM simulations, Industrial designers and marketing. 

You can look forward to putting your own fingerprint on new and running projects. As an experienced Mechanical Developer, you do in depth mechanical development as well coordinating daily tasks in a delivery team of 6 and ensuring the right quality and maturity at the right time.

Your daily work tasks

• Mechanical development in new and running projects (we are using PTC Creo)
• Mechanical simulations (Ansys)
• Specifying, designing and documenting components
• Supporting the project manager in planning the daily project activities
• Planning and executing design reviews and documenting them
• Specifying requirements for new projects
• Transferring projects from development to production

You and your specific project team will be working closely together with engineers specialized in amplifiers, tooling and operations. You will work in cross-disciplinary projects utilizing Oticon´s own prototype centre with RPT technology and facilities for making micro-mechanical prototypes. Regarding travelling can you expect 10-20 travel days a year visiting suppliers in Asia and our factory in Poland.

 

Your experience as Mechanical Developer

We expect you to have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineer and a minimum of 2-4 years of experience within designing small mechanical solutions. Your experience may cover areas like: 

• Mechanical development and design within medical- or small consumer electronic devices
• Mechanical simulation using for example Ansys
• ME integration of electronics design (PCB, connectors, batteries, radios etc.)
• Robust design (Tolerance, DFM, DFA, simulation, usability)
• Experience in project execution - you know how to get from A-Z

Furthermore, you have the drive to get things done in a team. You motivate your colleagues to deliver quality solutions on time, you have an analytical mind-set and you keep calm handling multiple tasks. You thrive in a busy environment

navigating among many stakeholders. You know the importance of following Quality Management Systems, as we are a Medical Device house and therefore depend on being compliant.
