Do you want to be part of a highly skilled team of lead technicians providing onsite support to our offshore wind farms? Join us and become Lead Travel Technician in WTG Special Tasks, which operates across all offshore wind farms within DONG Energy's portfolio. WTG Special Tasks is, amongst other things, responsible for delivering lead technicians and supervisors to highly complex technical projects and activities. Our aim is to perform world class WTG inspections and to develop and execute major component exchanges more efficiently. The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You work in a 14/14 rota system; 12 hours shift pattern per day for 14 days, followed by an off period of 14 days. Meetings, training and travel activities must to some extend be expected in the off-period. During the work period, you primarily work at one of DONG Energy's wind farms, and your base of accommodation depends on the activity to be performed; meaning that both offshore and onshore accommodation must be expected. Areas of responsibility You will perform work on our offshore turbines, and your primary tasks will be to: prepare WTGs for major component exchange work as team lead during WTG operations activities carry out quality/EoW inspections in WTGs, but also ad hoc inspections, ie gearbox inspections perform troubleshooting and repair activities of electrical and mechanical components in WTGs provide input for development of tools, risk assessments and work instructions, participate in meetings/workshops and share your field experience to support WTG operation efficiencies and performance. Your profile You have a relevant education and extensive technical skills acquired from working with wind turbines, preferably Siemens wind turbines, and knowledge of the offshore wind power industry. An aptitude for working at heights and offshore is essential, and you must be prepared to enter into a scheduled training programme for a period of approximately one year. You thrive on taking on complex technical challenges and coming up with professional technical solutions. Furthermore, you have the ability to establish, maintain and develop effective relationships with a hands-on mentality. It is important that you are willing to work in a team, but also to work and act as a team lead on technical projects and activities.
