Statens Serum Institut (SSI) is looking for a highly motivated Business Development and Licensing Manager to support the Business Development and Sales function’s increasing externalization activities.
About Business Development
Statens Serum Institut has a long heritage of serving the Danish and the World health through researching and developing vaccines and diagnostics. An essential part of the Institute’s activities is funded through grants and revenue from collaboration and commercial partnerships. The Business Development and Sales function is responsible for securing innovation rights, maintaining existing partnerships and commercialization of the project portfolio of +20 partnering ready opportunities from discovery to phase III within the areas of tuberculosis, malaria, influenza, oncology and sexually transmitted diseases.
About the position
As Business Development and Licensing Manager, you will be involved in a broad portfolio of business-related activities. In collaboration with the Business Development team and scientific colleagues, you will be involved in identifying and analyzing licensing opportunities, forming alliances and executing agreements. The position will give you a broad experience in all aspects of commercialization and is an excellent platform for personal development. It is imperative that you assume a committed and active role in reaching the specific commercial goals set by the management. International representation and travelling is part of the job.
Professional and personal qualifications
The ideal candidate for the position features the following profile:
• Graduate degree at Masters or Ph.D. level, preferably in a Life Sciences or a Commercial discipline
• Experience in commercial contract negotiations from similar positions
• Ability to manage internal and external processes necessary for establishing commercial partnerships
• Knowledgeable about the Life Science industry
• Ability to manage matters of multiple complexity
• Positive, resilient and with a strong self-drive.

Terms of employment
Salary and appointment terms will be based on the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Federation of Professional Associations (AC) (overenskomst for akademikere i staten).
Depending on your academic qualifications and experience, there is a possibility of being classified as a special or senior consultant according to appendix 4 “protocol concerning special- and senior consultants” (Protokollat om specialkonsulenter og chefkonsulenter).
