The primary areas of focus for the Vestas Patent Department are protecting commercially important ideas invented at Vestas and assuring Vestas freedom-to-operate through the assessment of competitor patents. The environment at Vestas and within the Vestas Patent Department is dynamic, reflecting a rapidly evolving industry. Responsibilities and tasks : As a Patent Attorney you are responsible for driving all patent related tasks to completion, whether handled direclty or by outside counsel. Your tasks include, but are not limited to: •invention identification, and assessment •patent application preparation and prosecution •freedom-to-operate analysis •competitive landscape analysis •involvement in contentious proceedings, oppositions, etc. •support for contract negotiations, as relates to patents •manage one or more patent review commitees. Qualifications and work experience: We are looking for a candidate with the below experience and skills: •University degree in electrical engineering, physics, controls or similar. •Experienced in performing freedom-to-operate analysis, preferably in a private law practice setting. •Qualified before at least one patent authority (preferably the European Patent Office, UK, German or the US Patent Office). •Able to work largely autonomously and makes decisions based on sound logic, while having a good sense as to when management involvement is appropriate. •Adept at learning new technologies.
