Would you like to develop and execute electrical system projects for offshore wind farms? Join us and become Project Manager in the Electrical Project Management department, where we are responsible for developing and constructing the electrical systems for our offshore wind projects. Electrical Project Management consists of 16 project managers located in London, Hamburg and Copenhagen, and we provide leadership and manage the teams responsible for delivering the electrical engineering, procurement and construction of the electrical scope of works, related to offshore wind farms in northern Europe. Electrical Project Management is part of Wind Power which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You will be based in our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. You should, however, expect some travelling in Denmark and Northern Europe in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility As Project Manager, you will have the responsibility for delivery of the electrical systems that connects an offshore wind farm to the transmission grid. The primary scopes are system design, submarine and land cable supply and installation, transformers and HV and MV components, protection and control as well as all related engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning activities. You will be working together the individual project team and other functions within the company’s main business processes to ensure that we deliver a standardised and optimised product, at the lowest practical costs and with the highest possible safety, throughout the development, construction and operation phases. You will refer to a Programme EPC director and cooperate with other project managers and support functions on a programme level. Moreover, you will cooperate with a vast variety of other stakeholders and contributors across different line functions in a matrix organisational setup. Furthermore, your key responsibilities and tasks will be to: •deliver the project on time, cost and quality according to agreed project charter, and with excellent HSE performance •organise and lead the electrical project team as well as plan project activities eg design, procurement, construction, commissioning, QA •prepare and deliver project gate and project management documentation, eg project scope, cost, risks, interfaces •manage external stakeholders, eg transmission owners and local authorities •manage contracts and contractor's work in the execution phase •contribute to strategic and operational development of the electrical project management function. Your profile You hold a master of science degree in electrical engineering or similar, and you are an experienced project manager. As DONG Energy uses PMI/PMBOK as project management framework, a PMP certification or similar training and certification is preferred. Furthermore, you will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience within large construction projects. As you will be leading the electrical project team and manage many stakeholders, it is essential that you have strong leadership and communication and negotiation skills as well as commercial understanding and awareness. We work in an international environment and therefore it is important that you speak and write English fluently on negotiation level. As a person, you have a strategic and analytical mind-set and excel in performing high-quality assessments.
