About the department

Increasingly, healthcare payers and decision-makers want to evaluate drugs in their own real world settings, outside of randomized clinical trials, for formulary and clinical decisions.

 

You get the opportunity to join an international and high performing team in Søborg, Denmark responsible for generating real world evidence for Novo Nordisk’s portfolio based on e.g. health administrative databases or data from non-interventional studies. The evidence we generate is published in peer reviewed publications, presented at scientific meetings and communicated globally in support of patient access to our portfolio of therapies.

 

We are part of Global Patient Access, and the overall ambition for the area is to secure patient access to our innovations in Novo Nordisk. Real world data and evidence are being used more actively to form strategic business decisions with increasing focus for patient access. We are focused on evidence driven decision making as well as ensuring that Novo Nordisk effectively engages with patients, health care professionals, policymakers and other key external stakeholders to address the global fight against diabetes and obesity and other serious chronic diseases.

 

The position

As an analytical lead, you will be responsible for driving real world studies and insight generation. You will work to support the real world evidence team in Global Patient Access on non-interventional studies using e.g. large health administrative databases such as MarketScan/Truven, Optum/Humedica, IBM Explorys, CPRD etc., as well as analysis of data collected explicitly for research objectives. In this role, you will work with key brands to understand the strategic drivers of evidence generation and develop plans to address these. You will build insights and generate data-driven evidence using your expertise in statistical analyses, examples could be to analyze treatment patterns, resource utilization and comparative effectiveness. You will ensure correct cohort selection, variable selection, appropriate assumptions and analyses for the relevant studies. Furthermore, you will develop protocols or statistical analyses plan with responsibility for planning and design phases of projects. Experience working on patient level data using SAS (e.g., SAS Base, SAS Stat, SAS Macro), SQL and R is an advantage.

 

Qualifications

You have a Master’s degree or higher within Health Economics, Micro Econometrics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field along with demonstrated expertise in analysis of observational/real world data such as electronic medical records, insurance claims, registries, and cohorts. You have a strong track record of applications of skills in terms of e.g. scientific publications or similar, and you know how to address common methodological issues in non-randomised real world data.

 

Further, you set strategic direction with a focus on the commercial impact of patient access. You have an exploratory mind-set and have exceptional project management skills. As a person, you are outgoing and can create excellent stakeholder networks. You are able to collaborate across multiple boundaries and enjoy working with cross functional teams. Apart from that you are fluent in both written and spoken English and open to international travel.
