The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Specialist is to play a key role in developing an effective security intelligence capability for Carlsberg. The GBS Security team delivers Virtual Security Operations and Intelligence capabilities (V-SOC) which helps to protect and enhance the globally connected Carlsberg businesses. The V-SOC combines common security practices, processes and tools, large scale data exploitation and intelligent-analytics. This role is a key enabler in reducing the overall level of risk to the business through the analysis and interpretation of data, identifying risks and delivering or managing remediation activities. This role reports to the Director IT Security and is part of the Carlsberg Global Business Services function. Your responsibilities: •Working within the V-SOC, and reporting to the Director, IT Security, as SOC Specialist you will play a key role in helping to protect Carlsberg’s IT systems and networks from security threats and will be the senior security specialist within the SOC operations. •Monitor and analyse across a wide set of security solutions including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Firewall event logs, proxy logs, etc. provided through a Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) toolset to identify security attacks and threats for remediation/suppression, providing trend analysis for continuous improvement and development initiatives / enhancements providing technical expertise across the V-SOC environment. •The SOC Specialists has ultimate responsibility for the technical content within all areas of security reporting (e.g. incident reports and service operational reports etc.). The SOC Specialist will perform operational management of all security processes and continual service improvement activities within the environment. •Recognize potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough review and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information. •This role will also ensure that appropriate toolsets and procedures are followed at all times, and where required recommend any appropriate changes to meet Carlsberg Security requirements. •Meeting operational security and compliance requirements for internal processes and all external standards that are adhered to within the organization. What will you bring to the role: The SOC Specialist is expected to have proven technical expertise on the Operational Security aspects and knowledge in the following areas, along with a sound understanding of security requirements: •Cyber Security and Attack Models •Security Analytics and Network and System forensics •Next-Gen Firewall/Vulnerability Management/IDS/SIEM Toolsets •Operational Threat and Vulnerability Intelligence (CVE DB’s, exploit publications etc.) •Governance & Industry Standards With the following typical background and experience: •The SOC Specialist is expected to have proven technical expertise on the Operational Security aspects •Holds at least one of the following qualifications and certifications (GCIH), (GCIA), (CISSP), (CEH) •Expert in the operation of ArcSight SIEM toolsets •Expert in the operating Vulnerability Management and Technical Compliance toolsets •Proven experience with network session analysis and forensics. •Excellent understanding on key protocols including: HTTPS, TCP/IP, SSL, DNS, ICMP •Ability to conduct reviews of security posture including AUP, firewall policy, proxy blacklists/whitelists •Knowledge of vulnerability and malware analysis, resources relating to exploit kits, techniques and CVEs The ideal candidate is self-motivated, result oriented, with a personal drive and very strong ability to influence and engage others.
