In Global Development, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases to product launch. We ensure medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and authorities while ensuring that the process lives up to global standards, regulations and business ethics. About the department Epidemiology is part of Global Development and we are based in Søborg, Denmark. You will be joining a team of 10 dedicated epidemiologists of various backgrounds and experience. We are responsible for supporting key development projects and launched products by providing epidemiological expertise based on literature and data. The job As senior epidemiologist in Novo Nordisk you will apply your epidemiologic knowledge and skills to provide real world evidence from literature and real world data and studies. You will primarily work within the major disease areas diabetes and obesity, and your effort can make a difference for many people. You will be responsible for providing epidemiologic evidence to a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation. Your duties will be varied and diverse within pharmaco- and classical epidemiology, encompassing guidance on and reviewing study designs and analytical methods, literature research and conducting your own analyses based on real world data from either Novo Nordisk observational studies or external commercial data sources. Moreover, you are responsible for communicating your results and findings in a clear and convincing way both orally but also in various types of publications. You will have interactions with many stakeholders – either when communicating epidemiological results to internal stakeholders or through contacts with research organisations, commercial partners and academic institutions involved in analyses of epidemiological data. Qualifications You hold a master’s degree in public health, life science, biostatistics, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. In addition you have minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical or biological area working with analytical epidemiological projects and real world data. You have experience in working with SAS and experience with R is an advantage. We emphasises accountability and reaching goals through a collaborative effort, thus it is essential that you are able to use your good interpersonal and communication skills to reach results together with others. Moreover, you must be able to work independently with external project teams. You enjoy responsibility and complete your assignments proactively and within timelines. Finally, you are able to communicate fluently in English – both in speech and writing.
