Join our technologic evolution
In Billund lies our Creative Play Lab Enablers team. We are 14 colleagues in total, dedicated to developing digital, physical and electronic play components for use in LEGO® products, from apps to physical playsets and everything in between.
Through communication and collaboration with our R&D and external partners, you will extract ideas and code them into components that other members of the Enablers team will use to create play experiences.
Depending on the product concept needs and feasibility, you will architect and develop new front and back-end components, primarily for mobile platforms. You will do this by combining existing technologies with emerging technologies such as computer vision, augmented reality and machine learning to produce the most innovative solutions.
Concretely, you will:
- Develop supporting software components for automation of model rendering, training of neural networks, building workflows & toolchains and setting up build pipelines
- Develop prototypes in collaboration with our Design & Experience Development teams
- Assist execution partners with implementing developed and approved components
- Collaborate with experience designers on research to ensure that developed components add most value to end-users
- Mentor colleagues and external partners, both remotely and face-to-face, in the use of new components in the most effective ways, learning from how the components are used in practice, then iterating to improve
- Create code samples and documentation for external partners to accelerate their understanding

Software developer with full-stack experience
An entrepreneurial mindset, great collaboration skills in international environments and the ability to search out solutions for any idea or need that you may encounter on your way. These are some of the traits that we are looking for as your success will depend strongly on your ability to actively work with colleague and partners and push ideas to become a reality, despite any changes that may occur.
You also bring:
- 5+ years’ software development and architecting experience, preferably as a full-stack architect or similar
- Solid experience with Python scripting and C# and sound knowledge of computer vision, neural networks and machine learning
- 2+ years in senior developer roles, coaching and mentoring more junior members of staff
- A bachelor’s, master’s or engineering degree within computer science or the like
- The ability to travel up to 30 days per year, mainly to UK and US, to collaborate with external research and development partners on the use of developed components
- Fluency in English and solid presentation skills
- Preferably, experience with C, C++, Unity, TensorFlow, Caffe and working with augmented reality – it is however not a requirement
