Vestas is seeking a new Wind Turbine Load engineer with a creative mindset. We offer a job where where you can utilise you knowledge and experience of wind turbines to find solutions for our site engineers while also developing automatic new tools to develop loads. Vestas Plant Solutions - Plant Siting & Forecasting - Plant Siting and Loads Plant Siting & Forecasting is globally responsible for development, implementation and training in new tools and methodologies for adequate micro siting, terrain and climatic evaluation, wind resource mapping and wind turbine load evaluation. Plant Siting & Forecasting is an active and expert research and service center with a staff of 20 dedicated scientists. The Siting and Loads team is in charge of developing wind turbine loads tools and supporting wind and site colleagues around the world with load related tasks. For this team we are searching for a siting and loads engineer with a creative mindset that can think out of the box and come up with new ideas on how to assess loads and operate wind turbines in order to maximize energy output and minimize turbine loading. Responsibilities: You will join a team developing load evaluation tools for our Sales Business Units. Furthermore you will assist our global Wind & Site engineers with load related task and perform load calculations for specific sites and/or turbine configurations. You will also assist in wind resource assessments. Your tasks include: Development of siting and load analysis tools and methodologies. Technically supporting Wind & Site engineers in load analysis and turbine performance. Performing analysis of wind- and meteorological data Perform site specific turbine load analysis and optimization Conduct training in developed tools and methodologies Support technically and liaise with certification bodies on Site specific certifications for onshore projects regarding structural loads calculations for projects across the globe. Qualifications: You have a Scientific Master Degree – probably in civil or mechanical engineering You have experience in wind, aerodynamics, structural dynamics and aero-elastic codes like Flex, Bladed or HAWC Competencies: You have good analytical skills which enable you to acquire new knowledge and assess technically complex problems You have programming experience in preferable C# & Matlab. You are able to work in a structured manner, including routines, although tasks are varied You are able to work independently as well as in groups You have a creative mind-set so that you are able to come up with new thinking and new ideas. Of course the job also entails readymade guidelines and frameworks which you should also be able to follow.
