Would you like to work on projects of great importance to Grundfos and join an international team of skilled colleagues? Do you want to influence the firmware going into our end products and see your contribution work generically on our platform? And do you see yourself working with the entire software development model from specifications over implementation and test to final product? Then join the High Volume Pumps Software department. We are a global, virtual department consisting of 11 highly qualified Danish and Chinese software developers, who are responsible for delivering firmware for our High Volume pumps. Depending on our projects, you will join one of two smaller teams. We work as a SCRUM team and focus on accomplishing all our sprint goals, which maintain a strong focus on automated tests. You refer to Department Head, Martin Byskov Skafsgaard. “Each team member takes responsibility for the daily planning, and we always like to have fun while we are working – without losing focus and while keeping a high team spirit. We are meticulous when it comes to quality, and use our application knowledge to challenge specifications and create even better firmware. When it creates value for the customer, we are successful in our development,” Martin explains. What is the job about? As Software Developer, you are responsible for embedded software development for new and existing products with focus on a component based architectural setup. Based on application knowledge in relevant domains (primarily HVAC), you collaborate with the business to create features that produce customer value. This includes reviewing specifications and demands with the business, and you will also get to work hands-on with the products during the development phase. In this job, reliability and delivery on time is very important, thus you create embedded software quality solutions with respect to reuse, a platform mind-set and automated testing. “Your challenge will be to understand all the different applications and add your knowledge to them in order to create increased value for the customer. By contributing with your knowledge, you get to influence how the daily work is organised in an agile development framework and how the firmware in our products works,” Martin says. What do you need to apply? You have an IT degree combined with 5+ years of experience in applying embedded software in all phases of the development process – and you have a practical approach to the challenges. You possess solid knowledge of C programming – and high focus on test, and you are familiar with tools in the whole chain such as configuration management, buildserver, etc. Moreover, you have experience in developing re-usable software components (i.e. a platform mindset), and it is a plus, but not a prerequisite, if you have HVAC application knowledge or experience with AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture. You speak and write English fluently. “As a person you are structured and like to document your own work, and you thrive in a virtual, international team where the software deliveries are developed through teamwork with clear goals. You have the will to understand the applications and products, to deliver the best solution to the customer. And finally, you take a proactive approach, have a test driven mind-set and take ownership of your tasks to get things done,” Martin finishes.
