Legal advice and sparring with focus on business opportunities

Egmont has an ambitious growth agenda for our leading media positions in the Nordic countries. We are a group with constant focus on efficiency improvement, digitisation and enhancement of our existing core business as well as acquisitions within new growth areas.

As Legal Counsel based in Copenhagen you will be part of the Egmont Corporate Legal team. The main purpose of this new role is to ensure appropriate legal service to Egmont’s divisions as well as corporate functions with particular focus on the Swedish entities and business initiatives, however, the new role will also support other parts of the business. It will be possible to work out of Egmont’s Malmö office to some extent.

In close collaboration with your colleagues you will, as legal counsel, primarily:

Review and negotiate legal contracts

Be a trusted legal sparring partner and provide appropriate legal advice to the business (primarily within copyright law, marketing law, international contracts and company law)

Support and drive legal aspects of M&A transactions (due diligence, negotiation and drafting)

Help the business reduce risks and enable business opportunities

Ensure general legal compliance, while also ensuring that business needs are met in a practical way

Take responsibility for maintaining and developing legal templates for the department and for the business

Strong legal and analytical skills and solid business understanding

Master of Laws

Swedish qualified lawyer

A minimum of 4 years relevant experience from a law firm and/or a corporate function in an international company, with solid experience in copyright law, marketing law, M&A and company law and potentially also within IT/software agreements, international contracts and data protection.

Strong negotiation skills

Solid business understanding

Proactive and commercial approach with focus on cooperation and results rather than legal obstacles

Good interpersonal skills as well as customer and stakeholder management

You communicate clearly, also regarding complex and technical legal matters

You are energetic and thrive in a changing and challenging environment

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

Fluency in Swedish and English is a must (drafting and negotiation level), other languages are an asset
