Milestone Systems is recruiting a Technical Learning & Training Specialist to develop the learning and performance team support solutions using a variety of delivery methods. Working with senior instructional designers, you will create and maintain face-to-face and online instructor-led classroom materials as well as certification assessments on the subject of designing and deploying complex IP video systems.  

In the Learning & Performance department, part of the Learning Experiences Group, we deliver award-winning learning experiences, innovative on-the-job performance support tools, and rigorous certification assessments to empower our learners as they journey from novice to expert in the design and implementation of Milestone community solutions. In 2018, we delivered more than 50 thousand eLearning courses, 4,400 assessments, and trained 3,000 classroom attendees in 10 languages in 130 countries.  

The role is based in our headquarters in Denmark, seated with the other members of the Learning Experiences Group, Technical Communication and Localization, while reporting to our Learning & Performance Senior Manager in USA. As you will have daily collaboration with your team in USA, you are expected to be flexible to accommodate the different time zones. You are also willing to travel.  

Job responsibilities: 

  • Develop and update learning and performance support solutions to meet the needs identified. Primary solutions include physical and online classroom materials. Additional solutions may include self-paced eLearning, online software simulations, blended learning, performance support systems, and collaborative learning experiences. 
  • Develop and update certification assessments that prove learner mastery of the knowledge and skills required to successfully perform on the job. 
  • Write instructional materials, including classroom documents, html code for online classes, certification tests, job aids, scripts, screen text, quizzes, and other documents. 
  • Coordinate and support online portals, including Adobe Connect and Learn on Demand. 
  • Review latest internal, technical documentation for updates to classroom and certification content. 
  • Specify needed media assets (graphics, audio, and video) and interactions. 
  • Maintain instructional design knowledge and monitor ongoing improvements in the use of technology to support learning. 

Qualifications and skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Advanced degree in Adult Education or Instructional Technology preferred. 
  • Demonstration of solid foundation in adult learning, performance support, and instructional design theory. 
  • Familiarity with html code, their capabilities, and best instructional uses. 
  • Advanced instructional writing skills in multiple mediums. 
  • Familiarity with agile way of working. 
  • Basic skills web development tools a plus. 
  • Graphic design skills a plus. 

 To succeed in this role, we expect you to be able to bridge relevant information from our Technical Communication & Localization team/R&D to your team in the US. It is crucial for the job to have excellent communication skills as you will be communicating with different stakeholders while also having hands on experience managing different projects simultaneously.
