Vestas is looking for a transport specialist who can lead business critical improvements related to general transport in Vestas – and in particular our service business. The new colleague will support the continuous optimization of our service supply chain in order to secure that our customers at all times get an on-time and cost efficient service. There will be a continuous dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders around the world, and this position will enable the right candidate to develop and thrive in a truly global company. Supply Chain Planning/Global General Transport & Customs The transport specialist will be positioned in the Global General Transport and Customs department with 30 highly skilled and motivated colleagues world-wide. The department has the global responsibility for the handling of general freight, customs compliance and export controls. Responsibilities: The transport specialist’s responsibilities will include, with full focus on the service business: Initiate and lead cost and process optimization projects Analysis of available data to monitor transport performance and to identify potential performance and cost reduction initiatives Establish and continuously improve data and reporting to support effective transport management. Proactive stakeholder dialogue, internal and externally. Ensuring service transport requirements are understood, communicated and fulfilled. Input to operational issues in the team, where related to service transport performance improvement. Global Transport contact point to Global Sourcing for service transport requirements and vendor negotiations. Role of Business Process Expert (BPE) for Service Transport. Work with the Business Process Specialist (BPS) to develop process landscape to support transparency. Qualifications: Education within Transport, Logistics or similar Several years of experience from a forwarding company or similar Competencies: Thorough knowledge of general transport and forwarding Strategic skills and ability to maneuver among various stakeholders Strong analytical skills – ability to identify details and to draw and communicate conclusions Knowledge of project management and process improvement methods is an advantage Good verbal and written communication skills – incl. in English Strong Excel skills and good at crunching data What we offer: This position offers excellent opportunities for cross disciplinary and personal development by working with general transport in a large global organization having highly specialized and professional colleagues.
