About the department Novo Nordisk is recruiting a Director of Global Publications Diabetes and Obesity to join the Global Medical Affairs team in the Company Headquarters outside of Copenhagen, Denmark. This is a unique opportunity to work for a world leader in diabetes care and help improve the lives of people with diabetes and obesity worldwide. Global Medical Affairs is responsible for delivering consistent scientific communication across phases in clinical trial programmes. The job In this key position reporting to the VP you will drive and manage the global publication team of four publication managers, develop and secure execution of the global publication strategies and plans related to NN diabetes & obesity portfolio. The job includes daily collaboration with broad groups including external clinical investigators and internal stakeholders from medical affairs, global development, discovery, statistics, regulatory, market access and affiliates. The job also entails oversight of affiliate publication planning and execution, aligned with Global strategies and scientific communication plans. The director secures that relevant and appropriate information of upcoming publications is timely passed on to colleagues across the organisation. You will be chairing publication group meetings with key internal stakeholders and be responsible for execution of global publication plans across the portfolio as well as the budget. To succeed you need to provide impact and combine your knowledge and experience with outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills. You easily build constructive relationships across multi-disciplinary departments and with key opinion leaders, and are able to select and manage agencies to deliver to budget and target. You have professional project management skills and are action-oriented with ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Proven expertise in a similar position together with several years of experience of medical/science journal publishing – either with a publisher, medical communication agency or a pharmaceutical company is required. You have an excellent knowledge and understanding of congress and journal publication possibilities, as well as international publication guidelines and application to the pharmaceutical industry. You are a business or science graduate (PhD or MSc equivalent) and skilled at maintaining context with focus on transparency and ethics.
