As our new Hardware Design Engineer, you will be part of our Sustaining Platform Engineering team of 11 engineers. We provide complex technical support on 3-phase UPS systems in the 10KW to 1.6MW range on a global scale. R&D and Sustaining Platform Engineering A large part of the international technical development activities is driven from the Kolding site. Engineers and technicians from all over the world work together to create the very best conditions for our customers in terms of operational stability and operational costs in large data centers. When the R&D team has developed new hardware the product responsibility is immediately transferred to the Platform Engineering team who provides complex technical support internationally. To ensure the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction the Sustaining Platform Engineering team reacts on market and production feedback. Based on this feedback you will – together with the team – provide hardware solutions for our products; solutions that solve real customer problems and improve the products as requested by the customers. Find the best solutions for our customers As a Schneider Electric hardware engineer you must be open-minded and have a problem-solving approach because you will constantly be communicating externally with customers who have nonconforming systems and internally with R&D. Your primary responsibility will be problem-solving at all levels of all types of system issues. Experience with problem-solving is imperative. We work in a highly technical and dynamic environment – and on a global scale. This gives you many exciting challenges and great opportunities to cooperate with skilled colleagues and develop a strong international network across borders and cultures. Your Responsibilities •Support your Platform colleagues globally by analysing market data if a case is related to firmware/hardware in our products •Drive Corrective Actions on hardware issues •Ensure that Design Verification Tests are ready for verification of solutions •Create Engineering Change Orders and Service Bulletins for new solutions •Ensure technical documentation is at the latest level at all times •Implement proactively new functionality/design changes that make our UPS products even better in terms of power availability and user-friendliness •Ensure that Lessons Learned are communicated to R&D Enterprising engineer with a strong technical skill set •You have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar education combined with 5+ years’ experience •You have a good understanding of both high and low level functionality in relation to system control in both firmware and hardware. •You understand and have experience with system architecture and component design in UPS systems and specifically with ?Components ?High-speed systems ?Advanced analysis of circuits based on Pspice ?EMC ?Power components and typologies As a person, you are curious and take an open minded approach to problem solving, yet you conduct your work in a structured and systematic fashion. With your drive and focus on quality, you can get to the root of various technical issues and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations. Finally, you possess good communication skills in English, written and oral, and cultural understanding that enables you to cooperate with customers and colleagues from many different backgrounds.
